Complete Boredom At Home

It’s about time I received a laid back entry in my Diary.  With nothing great to really talk about, my day was, shall I say “boring” at the least.  Sitting here in my room all day since waking up at 12pm by a call from Lyssa, I’ve been playing on my computer for all that time.

Lyssa and I talked about me visiting her in Campbelltown today and then maybe traveling to Lonestar where we can eat.  Asking Lyssa to save her money, she thought that was a good idea after all.  So we postponed me traveling to Campbelltown to meet her.

So bored I was today in my room.  I didn’t go anywhere and only called Imad at 4pm for some company.

Lyssa Pressured To Vaccinate

Lyssa called me from work twice after her initial call.  Foremost, we talked about how she was going to get a needle injection at work.  There was a nurse coming in.  They were charging $40 (on Medicare), for a shot that prevents you from getting a certain type of flu.  Lyssa didn’t want to go through with it all day because she heard stories that it doesn’t work.  The other girl at work with the same name had her arm swollen up for three weeks, and she was sick on top of that.  Concerned, Lyssa had the injection because she was made to think she was a wuss not to take it.

After the needle, Lyssa learnt the purpose of the needle was to prevent one certain type of last year’s flu.  How do they prevent it?  By injecting the virus into your bloodstream and then the antibiotics after that.  So that explains why people get the flu anyway, their immune system isn’t up to it.

Play Vikings The PC Game

Imad was supposed to come over my house today.  I didn’t expect him and he didn’t come.  Figures.  Not working on Artwork or music, rather I sorted through CDs of archived games that I was given by Imad who in turn got them off Mace.  Searching and searching for a decent game (where I’ve searched countless times before), I came up with a lot of mess and some whacked out games.  Then finally, I found a decent PC game called Vikings.

What this game is basically about is you being a Viking leader and heading campaigns, sailing across the oceans in search of new forts to bust up and loot in turn, making you richer and increasing your chances of building your army and boats.

I’ve only been playing Vikings (The Strategy Of Ultimate Conquest) the game for an hour or two but it’s pretty catchy.  I might keep it for a while.  The only problem with installing this game was it was large and I had to delete some .WAV files to do that.

My Appearance On The Footy Show

On a different topic, tonight the ‘Footy Show’ was playing.  Remembering that Mario Fenech was interviewing Kylie Minogue in the City yesterday, I tuned into the program.  Quickly picking out a VHS tape I started taping the bit where he was interviewing Kylie just before she started signing her autograph.  The funny thing about all this is I don’t remember him being there until he was leaving and I took a picture of him.

At one stage I couldn’t see Kylie because I thought she was talking to the man on the microphone that was hosting the whole thing.  It turned out to be Mario.  I was so busy trying to snap shots that I didn’t pay any attention to who was talking or what was being said, but now I know.

Reviewing the tape and placing it into extensive slow motion, I found myself twice on the tape.  I am proud to say I’m in at least 12 frames of the whole take.  You don’t see my whole body, the most you will ever see is about 70% of my head, once from the back and once barely from the front.  Still, it feels good to have been there.  Now I’ve had the chance to be on the Footy Show twice, not to mention I might be in the paper.

Preparing To Meet Lyssa’s Dad

Lyssa called me once she got home from work.  We didn’t have much to say to each other because I was busy trying to archive on my computer and she was getting ready to eat.  When we did get the chance to talk properly, she told me how her dad won’t be traveling to her house tomorrow.  I thought that I would get embarrassed while Lyssa was having a shower and getting ready but instead, he is traveling straight to his hotel.  From there we will be given a lift by Carleigh to the Leumeah Tennis Club.

I’m nervous about being in a family situation when I meet Lyssa’s dad.  That moment will put some pressure on me to perform somewhat, and I feel that first impressions will last.  If on the other hand I had met Lyssa’s dad sort of one on one but on my terms, it would be different.

Lyssa called me back once more tonight just before she went to sleep.  I am still proud to say that Lyssa and I have kept in touch every single day of our existence being boyfriend and girlfriend.  There has not been one day where Lyssa and I have either not seen each other or ignored to call each other on the phone.  With a year almost at our heels (ten days to go), this will mark a great relationship between Lyssa and I.
