A Doctor’s Opinion On The Politics Of PRC Tests And Rapid Antigen Tests

The Medical Opinion

New South Wales recorded 23,131 COVID-19 cases today, with 105 people in ICU, and 2 deaths.

The time now is 11:55am.  I drove down to a medical center in town to check on a health issue unrelated to COVID.

The medical center seemed unassumingly quiet from the outside.  I decided to pause outside to don my new zebra-striped face mask.  The face mask is a change to the usual blue surgical face masks that I used to wear during the months-long COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in New South Wales.

As I slowly walked up the stairwell to the medical center’s second floor, I queued up behind half a dozen people in line to speak to reception.

“Can I see any doctor,” I approached reception when it was my turn.

I scanned my Medicare card so that the male receptionist could check my patient details.

Inside the medical clinic waiting rooms were a dozen people seated on evenly spaced lounge chairs.

“It’s going to be a one hour wait,” my attention was brought back to reception.

“That’s fine.  I can get some work done,” I tapped the laptop bag over my shoulder.

Then he asked, “Have you scanned the QR code to sign in?”

“I don’t have Wi-Fi,” I lied.

“That’s alright.  I can do it for you on the computer,” he helped.

I turned into the main waiting area, past the lounge area with long couches, passing the doctors offices on both the left and right, on my way to end of the corridor.  I became seated with windows behind me, so that I could see the spectacle of people queuing up for COVID tests outside.

Most patients in the medical clinic were between 60 to 90 years old.  I felt like I’m in good company here. They would be more afraid of someone else getting COVID than a young lad like me being afraid to catch COVID from them.

A Doctor’s Opinion On COVID-19

Eventually, after an hour, a short, mature Indian doctor called me in.  He had a full face shield over the top of his tightly fitted face mask.

It felt like an alien abduction scene to walk into his office.

I wore my face mask out of respect for these doctors. Also, the number of COVID-19 infections in Sydney has skyrocketed. Despite being healthy, some precautions are in order.

Closing PCR Testing Clinics

I told the doctor my symptoms. He did a physical examination, wrote some notes, and referred me for blood tests and an ultrasound.

In passing, I mentioned the long queue of people outside lined up at PCR testing clinics.

I asked, “Did you get a chance to see all the people taking COVID tests outside?”

He answered, “I did see them.  They closed many PCR testing clinics, did you hear?”

“I heard they’ve closed more than twenty. Why do you think that is?”

“Of course it’s because the positive cases are too high,” the doctor said with wry certainty in his voice.

“They closed the PCR testing clinics because the politicians don’t want the numbers to be so high.”

I was surprised that the doctor would give his honest opinion regarding the political decisions around COVID testing.  He hinted that if daily PCR tests uncovered 100,000 daily positive COVID-19 cases, then Australian people rightly would panic.

He alluded to the fact that if the New South Wales government has stopped people from being able to test for COVID-19, it was a deliberate political ploy to hide the true tally of COVID-19 infections in Australia.

What if you were meant to get a PCR test because it is required by government to travel interstate, to travel overseas, it is required to work, or required by international travelers who need to test a few days into their stay in Australia?  You could be positive with COVID, but because you couldn’t get a test, you’ve spread it to other people simply because of government politics.

If it is true that the government has decided to close PCR testing clinics to lower the case number of positive daily tests, it’s criminal.  Closing PCR testing clinics is going to directly affect the health of hundreds and thousands of Australian people.

You can’t play politics with Australian citizens. You have to give them the treatment they need. You can’t hide treatment so that the Australian federal and state governments can get a political outcome out of the health of Australian citizens. It’s not right for the government to do that.

It was hard to know whether this medical practitioner was boasting or just guessing. But if the government is playing around with the health of Australian citizens, there is definite corruption at play.

Reliability Of Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT)

The GP went on to say how ineffective rapid antigen test results can be when in the hands of ordinary people not trained to use them effectively.

Rapid antigen tests are only as reliable as the people who take them.  People may not know how to properly take a rapid antigen test.  If people misinterpret the instructions, the rapid antigen tests could show the wrong result.  In those cases, results can come up as false positives or false negatives, which makes the rapid antigen tests unreliable compared to PCR tests.

The New South Wales government is losing the plot.  The Federal Opposition Leader has come out and given a national address on TV underscoring the failures in securing enough rapid antigen tests for all.  However, Anthony Albanese also wants to give children from 5 years old to 11 years old a chance to get the COVID-19 vaccine.  You have to wonder why?

Kids don’t die from COVID-19.  They definitely don’t die from Omicron.

The worst COVID-19 symptoms in children will be the sniffles. The Australian government’s own Department of Health website has only 2 recorded cases of children in Australia under ten years old who have died from COVID-19.

I have heard of cases where a child has died of some other condition, but they had COVID-19 at the same time. That doesn’t mean they died from COVID-19.

Recently, an online news report had a misleading headline that claimed a child died with COVID-19.  When reading the article however, the cause of death was unclear, and showed the child died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) while the child had also been diagnosed with COVID-19.  It doesn’t mean the child died of COVID-19.  So, the media continues to mislead the public on the attribution of COVID-19 in deaths.

Taking Blood At The Pathology

When my consultation was finished, I wished the doctor well.  I came down the hall to pathology where I had my blood taken.  Once done, I hopped back in the car, took the face mask off, and drove by the snaking line at the local PCR testing clinic, on my drive home.
