The Australian COVID-19 Lockdown Cycle

This morning, while I had noodle soup for breakfast, my mom walked into the room to ask me to take her into town today.

She asked, “Did you hear how much the number of COVID-19 cases in New South Wales is?  It’s 1,500 cases a day!”  

Mom couldn’t believe the number of COVID-19 cases.  But I could believe it.  

New South Wales allegedly got the COVID-19 case numbers down to about 150 COVID-19 cases per day until December 13, 2021.  Once New South Wales eased restrictions on face masks and all the double vaccinated people were allowed to do whatever they wanted from December 15, 2021 , the COVID-19 cases, as expected, went through the roof.

Double vaccinated people are not immune to catching a virus. It was quite silly to assume that Australia was not going to get back to a point of climbing COVID-19 infections.

It’s pretty obvious to me that with face mask and social distancing rules relaxed, and with people shopping around for Christmas presents in droves, when the government chooses that time to tell the people to do whatever they want, the people are going to spread the virus. 

That’s what the New South Wales government does. They give you a small window where you can have normality.  Then they take your freedoms back away from you.

The Failures Of Lockdown

Mom was worried that New South Wales might go back into another lockdown. Other people I have spoken with on the streets and employees at Centrelink also worry of an impending lockdown.

I think that if New South Wales goes into lockdown again, the government will absolutely destroy the country. The New South Wales government didn’t prove anything with the last lockdown.  The last lockdown was a failure.  

Before Gladys Berejiklian took New South Wales into the previous lockdown, she delayed lockdowns for weeks, saying, “We’re not going to go into lockdown.”  Suddenly, she took New South Wales into a late lockdown.  

Gladys Berejiklian then became like all the other government parrots, tweeting, “You need to get vaccinated.  Get vaccinated.”  

The constant government harassment to vaccinate everybody against COVID-19 failed, because when New South Wales came out of lockdown, a high number of COVID-19 infections still remained in New South Wales.

Contrarily, despite the easing of face mask rules, while people breathed fresh air in public, daily COVID-19 cases declined. Now, COVID-19 cases have climbed back up to 1,500 to 2,000 daily COVID-19 cases in New South Wales.

Personally I don’t think the rise in COVID-19 cases is a big deal.   Most of those COVID-19 cases are Omicron variants.

Waking Up To Government COVID-19 Propaganda

The conversation around COVID-19 restrictions and COVID-19 infection rates in New South Wales continued as I drove mom to her destination.

I mentioned examples of how some people who become sick with COVID but died in a car crash, are misdiagnosed as having died of COVID, when really they died of a car crash.

Mom, vaccinated twice for COVID-19, surprised me how she started talking negatively about the statistics.

She said, “Yeah, I know.  The people are catching the cold but the government labels it as COVID.”  

I raised an eyebrow, “Oh!  So you are catching on to this too, are you?  That’s good.”  

Maybe my brother got into her ear! But her cynicism is common in the Australian public.  

Suspicions like those circulating amid the Australian public shows how stupid the federal and state governments in Australia are. What could the government possibly expect?  

I know the New South Wales government wanted to ease restrictions to allow businesses and customers to do business in the lead up to Christmas, but COVID-19 infection rates are obviously going to go up if you give double vaccinated people false hope, believing that they’re going to be impervious to catching COVID.  

Unpacking Government COVID-19 Propaganda

The government propaganda around the coronavirus has been atrocious.  They let double vaccinated Australians do as they please without reproach. Now the government’s decisions have come back to bite them in the ass.  

The New South Wales government can’t blame unvaccinated people now because unvaccinated people were not allowed to travel overseas. Only double vaccinated people can travel interstate or between countries. This new Omicron variant came from overseas to Australia via infected double vaccinated passengers.  

It’s not us vaccine free Australians anymore. Double vaccinated people were the ones that were allowed to go into restaurants and party at nightclubs.

New South Wales has now seen “breakthrough cases” where double vaccinated people get sick with COVID.  

More than 200 people in one Newcastle nightclub got sick with COVID-19.  The mainstream news media has not reported how many of these people died of COVID, how many were admitted to hospital, how many were put onto a ventilator machine that helps them breathe. You just hear about the biggest number that causes the most alarm, and that is the vague reference to hospital cases.

Now news reports mention that people go to hospital for many reasons.  There are 60 people with COVID in hospital for other reasons. They have chest pains, or any other reason.  They just happen to have COVID as well, so they are vaguely reported as being in hospital with COVID. Only one person in New South Wales is in hospital to be treated for COVID.

You’re getting all this mixed communication coming from the New South Wales government. None of it makes sense. The government is trying to paint themselves in a good light so that they look like they’re actually doing something constructive, but they’re not. The state governments of Australia have wrecked the country a few times over now, and they’re going to wreck it again if they put people into lockdown before or after Christmas.  

I think another lockdown in New South Wales will happen. I’m just not going to care.  Who cares what the Australian government says this time? If someone wants to come and lock me up for not wearing a mask this time, they can stick it.  I don’t buy into the government narrative.

If anything, the confusion that the government creates is good for businesses like vax3dom.com.  It will encourage more people to list their pro-choice business and to push back with statements such as “Anyone can come into my business.”   The non-discriminatory businesses already listed will get more traction.  Businesses that choose not to discriminate only grows with government ineptitude.
