Lyssa By Chance Sees Jewell – Mad Chaos: April 7, 1998

Recapping from my last entry, I guess I can start from last night.  I went to sleep at 4am because I was working on the computer.

Trek In The Heat To Lyssa’s House

This morning, instead of waking up Lyssa called me at 9:30am.  She told me she was home for the day.  She was all chirpy but supposedly was sick.  We talked on the phone for 20 minutes.  Lyssa asked me to come over her house as quick as I could.  I told her that I needed some more sleep.

Back to sleep I couldn’t keep steady.  So half an hour later I called Lyssa back telling her I was getting ready to come over.  Having a shower and then mucking around on the computer and doing my hair, I called Lyssa back.  This time I told her I was almost on my way.

Dad came home just as I was about to leave.  I had him give me a lift to Campbelltown.  From there I caught a train to Leumeah.  Then I walked in the heat to Lyssa’s house.

CES Job Search With Velda

Upon arriving at Lyssa’s house I walked into the back door where I scared Lyssa by surprising her.  Lyssa was still chirpy but told me that we were headed for Campbelltown soon to meet up with Velda.  That was no problem.  After I had something to eat we began walking down to the train station.

On the walk down to the train station we had a little disagreement, but that was soon extinguished.

Meeting Velda at Campbelltown station, we walked firstly to the CES to view some jobs.  I only looked at one job because lately I still have been turned off looking for Clerical positions.  Velda found herself two positions.

Teachers, Students, Schools, Language Partners, all in the one community. Jiaoyu Community.

The Surcharge Complaint At Giorgio’s Restaurant

Then from there we walked to Sydney Fried Chicken.  Before heading there I took some money out (the last in my bank account) and I bought some food for all of us.  Eating there, I read the weekly papers I took from Sanity for free.

Lyssa wanted to have a cappuccino so we headed for Giorgio’s Restaurant.

There we sat down.  At first it was only Lyssa and I.  Velda came in from talking to a friend.  Both of them ordered something and I didn’t.  I was happy to just sit there and talk to my friends, but the waitress told me, just to sit there would incur a $2.50 surcharge.  Stunned at what I heard, I questioned her for a couple of seconds.  Then I ordered an orange juice.  Unhappy that I was forced to either buy something or leave, I looked at the menu to find whether the surcharge was true.

Looking through the menu I noticed no warning, so I called the waitress over.  She came back to me with the lunchtime menu that had it written.  Lunch was before 3pm and it was half an hour after lunch had finished, so I didn’t stop there.  Technically, there was no surcharge at the time I was seated.

I asked for the manager because the waitress couldn’t take the heat.  There I was so pissed off that I didn’t have any money to pay for the orange juice, didn’t want to drink the orange juice and had to make either Velda or Lyssa pay now.

What was supposed to be the manager came out.  He told me that the menus had changed and explained that now a surcharge would be valid to the customer.  I figured that since technically, the menu only said a $2.50 minimum purchase, I gathered that it was per table or per group.  The menu didn’t say $2.50 minimum per person.  I wouldn’t normally give a shit but because Giorgio’s Restaurant basically treated me like shit, I thought I should have my say.

The waitress kept staring at me while we were seated.  To make a point I didn’t have my orange juice, as we left, but paid the whole amount.  That pissed off I was that the three of us were talking about writing a letter to The Advertiser so that Campbelltown could know how scummy that Restaurant is.  That’s what I’ve done.

Lyssa Gets To See Jewell

From there we traveled to the doctor’s so Lyssa could get checked out.  At the doctor’s office I ripped out a page from a magazine I noticed the last time we were there.  A picture of a girl standing up with jeans on and a denim shirt with a belt over it.  She has dark brown hair, but if she were blonde, she would remind me of Jewell.  I might include it in my artwork but I don’t think I will.

While there Velda was outside talking on her phone when she called Lyssa outside in a hurry.  Lyssa got up, stared at someone down the street and then walked back in trying to make me stay inside.  When I walked outside Velda had told me that Jewell had walked down the street and I understood what Lyssa’s fascination was.

Although, like in a dream, when two girls in school uniform walked past the doctor’s office, I glanced outside but didn’t pay attention.  But something clicked in my head.  When I did actually walk outside I noticed the girls walking down the street.  Then when I played in back in my head, it was Jewell.

After Lyssa got her Sick Certificate it was time for all of us to head home.  I gave Lyssa a kiss goodbye and could see she was in a hurry.  I gathered she wanted to quickly walk up the street to glance at Jewell to see who I was going out with before.

Walking into the back of Pizza Hut I strolled around the block to see what Lyssa was up to.  It turns out her and Velda visited the Newsagent to buy a birthday card for one of Velda’s friends.

Work on Dedications CD

I walked home.  As I got in the door I turned my computer on to continue my work.  These days, there has been some more attention to what I’ve been doing on the computer regarding the CD.

Ideas for my artwork have been grand so far.  I’ve thought of almost everything for the cover and CD.  I’ve called so many places regarding my CD and mixing beats it’s not funny.  I hope to record a beat in two weeks time.  A month after that I hope I can start recording some voices.

Discuss Weekend Plans With Lyssa

Lyssa called up soon after.  We talked for some time before we left because we had nothing to say to each other.  Lyssa did tell me that on Thursday night she is visiting the pub in Bradbury.  Then she is sleeping over my house because it is the long weekend.

This weekend we have been working up to because the whole weekend, Lyssa’s mum or brother will be somewhere else, leaving the house all to ourselves.  Not to mention, this weekend we are visiting the Easter Show, so it is a full weekend for both of us.

Tomorrow I’m going to try and have Ralf come over so we can muck around with his guitar and see what we can have done with my song.

I’ve talked to Lyssa a couple more times tonight.  The last time we talked was before Melrose Place.  Saying goodnight to each other, I’ve been working on my computer and reading the magazines I got from Sanity.

Now it’s back to work on the CD though.
