Final CD Cover Folder Designs – Mad Chaos: July 3, 1998

Friday has come and physically, there hasn’t been much achieved by me.  Most of the day was spent at home today, let alone for the fact I traveled to Campbelltown to hand in my form and down to Bradbury shops to return my computer game ‘Myth’.

Musician Placement Service Ad Popularity

Popularity is an ingenious contraption.  I’ve received another call today regarding a guitarist from the ‘Musician’s Placement Service’.  If I’ve learnt anything it would be that this business really has a gathering behind it.  It’s good to invest within.  Lucky for me, I received my ad for free.  I didn’t need it in there but here you have it, a couple of people calling through.

Imad Too Busy These Days

Waking up this morning at 11:30am, I knew I had to sleep some more.  Well, I wasn’t lazy but sleepy I was.  So I set the alarm for another hour.  Little did I know the watch was running slow, but I woke up at 12:30pm.

From there I jumped out of bed.  I called Imad up to see if I could get a lift, but my doubts were right. He wasn’t going to make it.

Wanting to make the bus for Campbelltown I put some clothes on and picked out my form. Not long after, when it was time I headed for the bus stop.  I caught the bus and headed for the station.

Hand In Centrelink Dole Form

Reaching Centrelink there was a huge line to wait, so I checked some jobs out.  The same jobs come up all the time.  Jumping into the line, I was finally served.  Then heading out of Centrelink began my journey to the heart of Campbelltown.

Being awake for only an hour or less I wanted to go home.  I tried calling Imad, since he said he would be in Campbelltown later.  Using a public payphone I gave him a try.  But as he picked up the phone, it was evident he wasn’t coming.

Seeing A Mean Green Celica

Walking down Queen Street, I checked out a couple of stores and some jackets and tracksuit pants.

Walking past Commonwealth Bank, I noticed an immaculate dark green Celica pull into a parking spot.

Finding the body perfectly straight and the interior superior, my eyes gleamed at the 1974 Celica.  The great thing about the Celica was that instead of a scoop, it had the side rafting.  But unlike all the rafting (little air holes on either side of the bonnet running with the body) I’ve seen, these stuck out and made the car look vicious, like someone mean was driving it.

This gave me an idea to call Toyota up and ask them for some information sheets on Celicas around that time, but I hadn’t gotten around to it yet.

Measure CD Artwork Foldout Measurements

Walking home I started getting sweaty.  Finally, I made it home.  Jumping onto the computer I knew I had some work to do before the weekend was over and I had to travel to the ‘Fusion Factory’.

Looking at the artwork for the CD, I realized that the measurements for the folds were wrong and I had to rearrange them.  With this in mind, I drew up a little diagram on the computer and worked out how much extra spacing the folds would need and how much extra space I should allocate to lengthen the sleeve to fit the length of the casing.

Well, since folding would mean the next folding length would have to be bigger in order to fold properly, I came up with a strategy.  This plan was to have the work the same size (which is 48.4 cm), but instead, increase and decrease some folds.  My normal folds were each 12.1 cm, which would shorten one side dramatically.

My answer after some elaborate thinking was this.  The cover with Dedications written on it would be 12.3 cm and then sequentially, folds will be 12.2 cm, 12.05 cm, and 11.85 cm.  This means that all folds will go into each other with no problems.

Phone Lyssa At Her Work

After that little glitch was finished I started work on some of the detailing of the pictures.  Lyssa gave me a call during this so I talked to her while she was at work.  In actual fact, Lyssa gave me a call soon after I left for Campbelltown and once before where I chatted to her.  This time, it was time for me to call her and I did.

Boy, it’s been a while since I’ve called Lyssa’s work.  Upon calling we talked for a couple of minutes. Being as busy as she was she had to leave to carry a heavy franking machine to a local court.

Viewing Sports Illustrated Magazine

That gave me time once again to work on my computer, but I knew I had to drop off my computer game ‘Myth’ because it was getting late, so I did.

Walking to Bradbury shops I dropped off the computer game.  Then seeing an advertisement for ‘Sports Illustrated’ out the front of the newsagents with a very beautiful, bustling lady on the front cover, I just had to have a peek.

Sports Illustrated Heidi Klum Cover

Feeling reticent, I tread inside careful and was blessed to find no souls but those behind the cashier.  Eyeing the whole stand, I noticed the book and began flicking through pages.  Knowing there was a slanted mirror behind me, I was timid in the fact that I thought people were staring at me.  Well they weren’t, but wanting to hurry out I did.  Seeing enough of the lady though, she was gorgeous.

Radio Edits On Dedications CD

Hurrying back home I done some sit-ups and worked on my CD songs within the computer.  Trying to figure out where I’m cutting the tracks and making radio edits, I worked harmoniously for a couple of hours.  Come Monday, I’ll have to have all this information down pat to make it a faster experience.

I’ve already worked out the whole CD runs for an approximate time of 45 minutes.  For twelve songs (four have been cut), that isn’t fairly long, I was hoping for an hour’s length.  Nevertheless, it runs longer than my original CD, which was a meager twenty-five minutes or more.

Lyssa Prepares To Come Over

Lyssa gave me a call when she got home and told me she is traveling to the Catholic Club tonight as she planned with Kiley and all others.  Later on tonight she is catching a cab home and she is sleeping over.  Not that I’m expecting much but when Lyssa gets here we should be in the mood for some ruckus and good times.  Not getting my hopes up too much, I fear that Lyssa and I will get into a little tussle because we disagree on actions tonight.  Well, I won’t be the one to disagree, she will probably be.

Saturday night I am going out with Ali, although not yet discussed, I know it to be.  That gives me a little time away from Lyssa, I feel like I need that little bit of extra space.

Since our last phone call, I’ve been watching television and using my computer.  Right now, before Lyssa comes over I think I will work on the artwork for the CD, maybe work on the songs and then it’s onto more nominal actions.

Not really having written much in my Diary tonight (if you think four pages isn’t much), I don’t feel in the expressive mood for some reason.  I just want to use the computer for artistic purposes and listen to my music awaiting Lyssa, who is coming here by taxi.
