The Changing Wind Of Influences – Mad Chaos: May 29, 1998

Lyssa is coming over my house tonight, catching a bus here from Campbelltown soon.  That means that I can only brief about the day just passed and hopefully, fill the gaps another day.

Organize A Movie Night

Waking up this morning at 11am by Lyssa’s call, she was seeing if our plans for tonight were still on.  When I said yes she asked me to book a movie for the night and just sit tight.  Lyssa couldn’t wait until her day was over.  She just wanted to come home.

Jumping off the phone I then had something to eat and called up Video Ezy.  The movie that Lyssa wanted to watch tonight was booked out, so I had to travel to the video shop later to look for a good movie.

For the rest of the day I was mucking around on my computer, trying to fix up the artwork.  But because the memory is so used now, I frequently get crashes.

Run DMC Is In Town

Just as I was making my breakfast at 12:30pm Shawn called me up.  He told me that he was buying tickets to see Run DMC in Liverpool.  Knowing what he was talking about, he then asked me to come along.  After some careful consideration I said yes.  The reason I was hesitant was because Lyssa was coming to my house tonight and she wanted me here.

Show Instrumental To The Boys

Shawn and Tatton came over my house soon after.  He wanted to hear my instrumental and what I’ve done so far.  Putting the tape on, I told them it would hiss a bit and that I was changing the guitar to a real instrument.

You could tell they were very amazed with what I had done, kind of like they really didn’t believe that could happen from me.

Shawn Joins A Punk Band

After showing them that, Shawn told me he was now in a Punk Band playing the bass guitar.  Ralf also tried to get into the local band but was kicked out before he even got in.  It seems that Ralf was trying to take over the band (as he usually likes to show his talents) and tried to blend R & B with Punk.  It just didn’t work.

Tatton is also getting himself a guitar and then starting up musically.  So, it seems there is more talent in Campbelltown than I thought.

Teeny Bopper Rap Version 2

Jumping into the car we started talking about the raps we used to do back in the days about the group and how funny it was.  We started talking half seriously about doing that all over again, but this time more professionally, for a crack up and for our group.  Once a bass instrumental is established and we’ve worked out some raps and lyrics, we can take it to the studio and work on it.

Shawn’s Car Breaks Down

As we jumped in the car we drove our way to Liverpool, comfortably talking.  Shawn kept telling me the engine could conk out at anytime.  It sounded pretty bad to me.  Halfway on the highway the engine did seize.  A loud noise was coming from the engine.  It was leaking oil and smoking.  As Shawn parked it on the side of the road, we knew the car wasn’t going to move.

Stepping out of the car we figured that we should park the car on the side of the highway and then start walking, which didn’t bother either of us.  Myself, I just thought of it as an adventure.

As we started to walk on the highway we started to get worried about not being able to see the traffic and cars whistling past us.  Crossing the road to the other section we could see the cars coming.  We had to hold onto our hats every time a couple of semitrailers flew past.  The car broke down at the crossroads in between Glenfield and Casula.  Our problem was getting to a station.

Walking Off The Highway To Get Help

Walking up grassy bits and almost running into spider webs and hitting bindy patches, our first challenge was jumping a fence onto a bridge walkway.  Walking up a steep hill we came to a large fence.  Perpendicular to it was the bridge that led across the highway.  The bridge was a walkway for people trying to get across.  The only problem was the bridge was completely fenced and we had to climb it.  There was no little opening to get through the fence.  If we walked around it, we would have been there for a while.

Shawn was the first to climb the fence.  Tatton was starting to chicken off.  With square metal bits enough to stick your fingers into, Shawn started climbing the meter and a half of fence.  Once at the top, there were little pole bits sticking out 12 inches to prevent us from climbing, na-ah.

Shawn made his way down onto a railing that was on the other side.  He was lucky enough not to get his neck caught in some pieces of the fence that weren’t cut off properly.

Next, it was Tatton’s turn.  I had to help him get up the fence by holding his feet.  The heavy cunt made it up the fence.  Then in one fluid motion he jumped off the meter and a half high fence and respectfully landed on his feet, hurting his ankle.

Tatton climbed the fence.  Unlike Shawn who climbed back down the fence, Tatton jumped and plummeting to the ground, cheeks flapping in the wind, he landed hurting his ankle.

“No Worries,” I said to Tatton.

I then began my treacherous climb to the top of the fence.  Knowing I could do it, the climb wasn’t hard for me.  Reaching the top I realized how high off the ground I was.  Not wanting to lower myself to the railing in case I caught my neck on some loose parts or jump and hurt myself, I thought I would be a monkey and swing down.

Grabbing some fairly long bars above me that enveloped the whole top of the bridge (the poles stuck out about 30 cm each), I swung around the same kind of bars that were right next to me.  Swinging towards the middle of the bridge I jumped a fairly small distance to the ground as opposed to Tatton’s jump.

All of us let out a sigh and broke a sweat in a warm sun, as we began our trek down the walkway away from the bridge.  Our main purpose was to get off the highway, as we started our trek into residential streets.

A Bonding Adventure With The Boys

Our plan was to head for the nearest train station.  From what we knew, Casula should have been the closest.  Heading past Casula school we knew we were headed in the right direction.

It was like an adventure to all of us because we didn’t know where the next turn would lead us.

Now on the main road heading to Liverpool we noticed a sign that pointed the way to Casula train station.  After walking half an hour from where the car was broken down, we made our way down a windy, sloping road that eventually led to the station.

In the distance we heard a train approaching.  In a hurry we ran to the train station platform looking for a ticket machine.  The stupid thing about this station apart from it being all torn up and abandoned was that there were no ticket machines or ticket men.  Casula train station was a ghost station.  The train was headed to Campbelltown anyway so we sat down on the seats and waited.

While there, and just catching up on conversation, a long freight train approached.  Not wanting to miss an opportunity and not wishing to make any damage, I picked up some rocks and started throwing them at the cargo.  My rocks hit their targets.  Like I said, I doubt they made any damage.  As our fun was over, the train approached the platform and we jumped on.

Comic Book Store Visit

Approaching Liverpool, we realized that we didn’t have any train tickets, but we did have excuses.  Tatton had a ticket but Shawn and I approached the ticket man and told him our story.  He didn’t really seem to care.  From there we traveled to Westfield Shopping Center.

Firstly we made our way to a comic shop where Shawn and Tatton looked around at comic books and some posters.  Tatton showed me how he wanted to start up a role-playing set.  Shawn was viewing some new magazines to buy.  Shawn bought himself three books, some old collectors items and a new book adding up to $50.

Buying Run DMC Tickets

Now, we headed to Westfield shopping where we firstly headed for the booking office.  Tatton sat in the line and bought Ralf a ticket to see the ‘Run DMC’ show with ‘N-Trance’ at the same place.

While waiting in line, Tatton passed us a leaflet for ‘Sexpo’.  Realizing that it was already happening, we made plans to see the after party show on Sunday.

The next place we traveled to was HMV where I looked for a CD to buy.  I was tempted to buy a CD with the money that I had, but I held myself back.  After listening on their system, which didn’t let you fast forward or rewind, we headed for something to eat.

Discuss Girls Over Takeaway

Reaching a place called something like ‘The Basement’ or some other name Tatton and Shawn bought something to eat and offered.  Having money of my own I thanked them but didn’t feel hungry.  As we sat down, we talked about Phoenix and Tessa and how they are trying to have sex with them.

From what I heard, Noah is now going out with Phoenix.  I told Shawn that Imad was receiving calls from her for some booty, he told me he knew.  Noah and Phoenix together, it just shouldn’t be.  It’s not right.  It’s like heaven and hell.  Nobody really wants to see them together.  But from what I hear, Phoenix and Noah want to get married until death do they part.

A Train Back To Campbelltown

After having something to eat we walked back to the train station.  Not wanting to buy a ticket, I looked at the gates to see if I could get through.  Luckily the guy had the doors open so I just walked through, saying nothing.

Tatton then came through.  Then a little later, Shawn walked through.

Heading for the platform and waiting for our train back to Campbelltown, Shawn wondered how he was going to afford a tow truck to pick up his car.

The train ride back was fun, as we looked at the comics.

Buy Music From Sanity Music Store

Back in Campbelltown Shawn and Tatton caught a bus back to Shawn’s house.  I headed for Sanity as I said goodbye to them.  While at Sanity I picked out “Soul For Real” a CD that I had my eye on and waited to be served with no one there.  The lady’s there would have recognized me from always coming in and just listening through the headphones.  I shocked them today.

“Hello can I buy this CD,” I asked of them over the music.

“Yep, um, sorry.  Did you say you wanted to buy the CD,” replied one of the young lady’s behind the desk.

That just tells you how much they think I use their facilities to listen to music.  I’m just too picky with my music I think.

Once I bought my CD I started heading home.  As I walked I read the inside of the CD.  The more I study CD covers, structures of songs and singers backgrounds, the more I will understand the music industry and make a move into getting known.

Debating Whether To Complete Song Production

Today while I was sitting in my room I thought to myself, is it worth writing this song with the talent that I have for it?  So far I have a scratchy Instrumental and I haven’t found any voices to sing for my song.  I don’t think I will find the R&B sound I am looking for.

My choice was to just pay off my credit card and finish the CD without adding my song (the CD doesn’t need it but will be more worthwhile if it had the song).

After some short consideration I still want to finish the song.  I may not have the best voices or Instrumental but I’m going to try and make it sound as good as I can.  Right now, I’m just not ready to be a producer.  I’m not a strong enough name or person in the field.  I will be stepped on.
