The Honeymoon With Lyssa Is Over – Mad Chaos: August 11, 1997

Upon awakening at 8am I didn’t feel like getting up to go to an interview, but I managed and got ready to travel by train.  Unluckily for me, catching the East Hills line I had seen Norton’s sister again. After staying away from her, she sat next to me.  I slept half of the way to avoid having conversation.

Having second thoughts about work, I kept on walking and found my way to the office.  Upon arrival, I was treated nicely by the receptionist.

The Two-Hour Job Interview

The interviewer was very quirky in her nature.  So I opened up more than usual and was calmer, not worried at all.  The interview went very well.  She showed my computer diagrams to her staff, introduced me to everyone there, and showed me work that the office has done.

They actually are consulting planners helping people who design the layout for places like Campbelltown before it is made, to see what kind of impact it will have on the surrounding environment.

Sharon, the interviewer was very, very impressed with my ability.

She told me that my references were very professional and my résumé was all over excellent.  Not taking this to heart, I stayed as calm as before.

Mulling Over Handshaking Etiquette

Two hours later the interview was over, I shook her hand and left happy.

What I just realized is that you only really shake your employers hand before you get employed and if you’re on good terms once you retire or are sacked.  There is no need for handshakes once you are getting paid.

Sharon told me she would ring Frank my previous employer.  The Temping Agency called me up and told me she would ring me tomorrow early in the morning to see if I have the position.

Buying New Posters

While in the City I bought some sick posters of Snoop, Dr Dre and Warren G and also Jenny McCarthy in the raw.

Coming home I set them up and called Lyssa up to talk.

Our conversation was brief but we agreed that we might see each other tonight and tomorrow.

Jewell Rings Me

Later tonight, Jewell rang me up.  Surprised as I was for her calling me, she told me that she was very worried of calling me at a bad time.  Being the person I am, I made her feel welcome and talked to her about Zola and Kofi.

Jewell must have gone through hell to call me because she’d never do that.  She never has.  Figuratively speaking, she must have listened very seriously to something that I told her.  I told Jewell she should call me instead of her counting on me to call her.  Going against her own beliefs she called me.  Impressive.

Feeling Guilty Towards Lyssa

When I received a knock on the door I answered it.  Lyssa and Penelope were in my room.  Feeling slack, I told her someone was over without revealing any names.  Jewell understood.

Feeling more secretive when Lyssa asked who called, I told her it was Imad so she wouldn’t get upset.  Lyssa believed me, which makes it worse.

Lyssa kept asking what Imad and I talked about explaining it was nothing important, but I couldn’t help feeling what Jewell was feeling.  She wanted to call me and not have anything go wrong.  She wanted to catch me at a good time.  The worst thing to happen was for Jewell to realize Lyssa was over.

When I call her next, she won’t even ask about the incident or who was over.  She’ll know.

The Honeymoon With Lyssa Is Over

Ali also came over.  We all had a conversation and get onto session at my house before they left.  Lyssa is starting to worry me.  She never really shows me affection.  When we get onto each other, she’s always tuned onto the surroundings, and she’ll comment about it.

Cypress Hill was playing.  While we were getting it on, she kept stopping and talking.  When I get onto her, nothing enters my mind but her.  I lose myself in the moment, which leads me to wonder about her.

What also bothers me is that she never ever makes the first move.  I’ve stressed this point so many times but I believe it to be true.  Tonight at my house I gave her every opportunity to hold me, touch me, or show affection of any kind… nothing.

What pissed me off is that Lyssa looked as if she was pissed off because I wasn’t doing anything, when in fact I was trying hard.  Really, I hate getting knock backs.  From a girlfriend, you don’t expect that.

The honeymoon is over.  It’s time that reality bites.
