Revisit Our History With Jewell – Mad Chaos: May 21, 1998

I was talking to Jewell tonight and I went back into my Diary regarding the day we went to the City together and that night the party happened when things started going wrong.

Rummaging Through The Diary

Back in those days of writing I never fully explained my thoughts or how my days progressed.  Rather, I would write in chunks and hopefully the reader will go from here to there to make sense of it.  That’s one of the things Jewell argued about tonight.

As I told Jewell about that day she thought that when we traveled to the City and the party that night were two different nights.  To prove her wrong I looked through my Diary (the computer was already on).  Searching through, it took me ages to understand it.  I noticed it was all jumbled and not chronicled properly.

Finally, reading a couple of days ahead I found that Imad’s Birthday was near the party.  Because of that I called Imad up on his mobile phone (once again not chronicled properly, but adding a hint here, Imad came over my house with his redhead squeeze but I’ll get to that later) and asked him when his birthday was.  Imad was speeding away in his car.  After telling me he threw the phone down and kept driving.  I found it funny that he didn’t hang up his phone so I kept listening to Imad speeding in his car for a couple of minutes before hanging up.

The Days Leading To Our Breakup

Jewell and I talked about the day we went to Hyde Park and then looked through my Diary to find if the dates were right.  I would have been kicking myself if I were wrong because then I would have had to change the lyrics in my song.

Well I have just made a big mistake and have stuffed up big time.  Yes I have got some dates wrong looking back on my history.  The funny thing as we were looking through the dates was that Jewell and I were at that party and in Hyde Park that Saturday March 15th.  Now I didn’t have any problem with that as these dates were already in my artwork, but taking a closer look at all the dates, every single one of them I found an error in my recent work.

The problem was that for March 15th in my artwork and CD, that day was reserved for the day I wrote Jewell a letter.  In truth that letter was written a day before and Jewell received it on Friday.  Stupid I was to think that she received it on Saturday.  The Postman doesn’t run on that day.

Correcting The Dates On Dedications CD

I’ve made a big bungle and all these errors I had to correct.  Now, I have found that March 14th was the date that Jewell received her first letter fitting in with the song that I have for it called “Last Night I Wrote You A Letter”, which means she received it on the date I have now found.

Now that I had the new date for the letter, March 15th had to be the date for the song that I am producing.  Now because I have done that I had the opportunity of taking out March 16th because the day before is when it all really started going wrong.

The thing about March 16th (apart from the fact it’s history that is included in the CD, which means I have to strongly consider using it) is that this marks the day that Jewell and I worked out that she was dumping me.  The day before (March 15th) was the day things started to go wrong but March 16th was a very significant date which I will have to keep.  Because of this now, I will be keeping all three dates next to each other and now have to search for a new song for March 16th.

I’ve considered using ‘Hard To Say I’m Sorry’ by ‘Az Yet’ but it doesn’t fit in with the other songs.  I then thought of moving around songs to other dates but that didn’t sound right.  So I’m left with keeping the new date, the new date order of songs and I have to find myself an extra song.  This has caused havoc now, as I have to change the appearance of some of the artwork to compensate.

It’s good that this problem has come because I’ve been meaning to increase the DPI in my computer so this is the chance.  The problem with this great feat is that once I start all over again from scratch I will have to try and make it exact and that means plenty of messing around.  The good thing is I can add new concepts to my artwork.  Also, now that I have an extra song, I will have to decrease the font size or something for the credits on the back page.  All in all there is a lot of mucking around.

Before I leave for our normal conversation let me just also add I can delete the tracks for March 14th and March 15th which are the dates I sent her a letter and the night at the party where things started to go wrong.  Two good things can come out of this.  One, I won’t spend a fortune on producing a song (even though I greatly need to produce this song, I’ve gone too far) and it will stick to the tradition of the last CD relating to dates.  The bad things if I delete songs from the list is it just won’t be the same and I need these songs to make the whole CD sound full.

A Computer Crash

Talk about lucky; I just had a nasty little accident with my computer.  For some odd reason (probably because I’m typing so fast), the computer had a relatively small crash and forced me to exit Microsoft Word without saving.  The problem with that was I hadn’t saved for ten minutes.  Trying to load back up the program I was having real bad luck with locating the Temp file or if there even was one.

Starting to get stressed that I might have to try and write out part of my entry (which ended up to be three and a half lost pages), I was thinking of switching the computer off and back on.  However, looking in the Temp Directory, I found what I had been hoping for.  There were four Microsoft Word files there.  I was lucky to find almost four extra pages I hadn’t saved when it crashed.  Now I have it all here and to tell you the truth, it was a very meaningful portion of this entry.

Eleven Months With Lyssa

Tomorrow morning when I wake up I am heading for the City to meet Lyssa.  In Campbelltown I will pick up her shoes from getting repaired and then head to the City.  There we will look for some jewelry Lyssa can buy and then we are headed back to Campbelltown.

There has not been much mention yet, probably none at all but today is Lyssa’s and my eleven months together.  It’s sort of cheapened it that I was talking to Jewell a night before how I was, but I will try and make it a great day for Lyssa and I.

One more month and Lyssa and I will have been together for a year.  Due is called for Lyssa and I to do something for that day.  I’m not sure what will happen but we will probably rent a hotel room and I will purchase some presents for Lyssa on the day.  Time to go before the computer crashes again.
