Discuss Eloping With Jewell – Mad Chaos: May 21, 1998

Let me just set it straight that it’s just after midnight now on Thursday and I’ll be talking about what happened on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I will start from the beginning now.  Waking up Wednesday morning, it was 11am.  As the day before, I was expecting calls for the advertisement I placed in the ‘Drum Media’.  Awake now, I had a shower and then patiently waited while playing the computer and listening to CDs.

Repair Lyssa’s Shoes In Town

For about two hours I waited until Lyssa called from work.  The time was 1pm and Lyssa wanted to know if I was still handing in her shoes for repair.  With that in mind I did my hair in a ponytail, placed my rotting shoes on (which now give me blisters because they are so old) and headed for Campbelltown with two plastics bags holding the shoes so I would not look weird.

On my way to the mall I walked past Pizza Hut and Phoenix shrieked my name out from inside.  Not knowing who it was I kept walking.  Then she ran out of Pizza Hut waving her hand up in the air in anticipation.  Phoenix looked ecstatic to see my face.  As she was waving hello, I just looked in her direction, gave her a blank stare and then kept walking.

I also bumped into Tatton’s mum but didn’t stop to talk to her.  I felt a bit weird.

Seeing Dina In Town

Not taking me long to reach Campbelltown, another person that I had seen in Campbelltown was Dina.  It was funny, as she was wearing shorts and a top that made her boobs jump out at you.  In casual clothes, you could tell she was trying to show off her body.

Even before we both walked past each other we were smiling at each other, shy of stopping to talk to each other.  We passed each other saying hello, me thinking that Dina didn’t want Imad to come up in conversation if we talked.  However, I didn’t have any real conversation to talk about because in all areas, conversation would have been linked in some way to Imad or who he knows through Dina.  We both kept walking.

All I did in Campbelltown was walk to the shoe repair guy, explained what had to be fixed on the shoes, and then headed back home to wait for phone calls.

Walking back home, I had seen the bus stopping at the front of Bradbury shops, so I stepped off the road and out of its way.  Walking past the bus I noticed Dina jumping off it.  Dina tried hard not to notice me and kept her head down, not wanting conversation.  I guess Dina is ashamed in some way of talking to me, as she thinks I will be judgmental or I was only being nice to her because she was going out with Imad.

Fuck, for an intermission, let me just say I’m a fast typist.  Here I am not even thinking what I am constantly doing as I pound away at different letters.  I’m like a computer now when I type.  If I see a mistake or even feel one while I type (with my eyes closed), then I will go back and render it.  Back to my normal conversation now.

A Musician Inquires About Ad

Back at home I asked mum if anyone had called me.  There was only one call while I was out by a guy called Winston.  Dad had written the numbers down really weird.  There were a whole lot of numbers there to choose from, so with common sense I chose the right combination and then called.  Luckily it was the right number.  I sparked a conversation with this Winston guy.

While we talked, I found out things like he comes from a ten-piece band called “Evail” which also has two other vocals.  This was great news to me, as I can use the three of them for my song.  If I send them the vocals then they can study it together.  They are also performing at Darling Harbor on the last day of this month.  They will be sending me a demo tape in the mail which I should receive in a couple of days.  Then when I have received that I will call them back and we will plan a day to get together for practice first.

Through this whole conversation we didn’t talk about money.  With that I know I have a higher standing when it comes to money.  Winston seemed to understand what I was trying to do with my instrumental and my demo.  Everything that I talked to him about relating to the song he would be able to better word it for me, which isn’t that hard.

So, firstly I want to get some practice done, probably at a rehearsal studio.  I’m thinking of a small payment for each time we do practice.  Then when we finally take it to the studio, a full payment will be made.  We ended the conversation with that.  Then I was on a high, back to my normal workload at home.

Drum Media Ad Prank Call

All day I didn’t receive another legitimate phone call for the advertisement.  Legitimate I say because I got a prank call.  This Rock, Westie sounding guy jumped on the phone.

“Yeah, I’m replying to the advertisement you left in the Drum Media.”

“Yep”, I reply to him, “It’s Tony speaking.”

“You say um, you need people sounding like, let’s see,” in his grumbly and crackly voice, “KCi and Jo Jo and um Boyz II Men.”

“Yep,” I replied, as I started going into detail about what I needed from someone.

He then asked, “Why did you advertise in the Drum Media?”

I told him, “I advertised everywhere.  I just needed a broad spectrum of publicity.”

He replied, “So you need someone like Boyz II Men aye.  I think Boyz II Men sound like faggots.  How do you like that, aye?”

Then as his fat, tattoo-infested arm slowly but swiftly oozed downwards, he hung up the phone.  That was my prank call.

So, I only received one call for my advertisement.  I’m hoping to get some more when I wake up today but I doubt I will.

Small Chat With Lyssa

After that I used my computer for a while and then gave Lyssa a call at work.  Being diverted from reception I told Lyssa how it cost $16 for Lyssa’s shoes to be fixed.  Lyssa was alright with that.  Then Lyssa told me about the ring she put a hold on that she wants to buy with the $50 that I had given to her ages ago to buy herself some jewelry.

Jewell Discloses A Close Male Friendship

Hanging up the phone I then mucked around on the computer and had something to eat before calling Jewell.  As Jewell answered the phone, she sounded expecting of my phone call.

We began talking as we usually do on ‘Wacky Wednesday’.  While we were talking Jewell started to hint to me that she was having problems.  With this knowledge I kept pressuring her to tell me her thoughts.  Finally she gave in and told me that it doesn’t entirely have to do with me, but it branches off to me.

Jewell told me that around December last year she had a problem with a very good male friend she has known now for a while.  Jewell told me that after a long time of friendship, this friend made a pass at her.  Jewell only thought of him as a friend, but all this time, this guy was thinking all of Jewell’s friendliness was leading towards something.  All men are alike.

Jewell’s friendship with this guy was forever changed as they tried to put it behind them.  That didn’t work, as this guy’s thoughts were always the same.  He probably thought because there was nothing holding Jewell back he might as well try.  Now he’s upset, because to him, she is still alone, but he can’t get her.

Jewell recently told this guy everything about me, that we will be getting back together and what I meant to her.

He then asked questions like, “When are you getting back together, like next week, next month?”

These were things Jewell couldn’t answer.  Jewell felt she had to tell me this, to be totally honest with me.

Running out of time, Jewell had to make her way to dancing.  So I told her to write down all her feelings on paper, all the things she has wanted to tell me over the time and I would call her later tonight so we could talk about them.  Jewell told me she would write them down but didn’t assure me we would talk about them.

Holly Gets Onto Three Girls

Just before we ended our conversation I received call waiting.  Lyssa was on the other line and I had to tell her I was talking to Ali.  Calling Jewell back I said goodbye and then called Lyssa back.

Lyssa and I talked for around half an hour about how I am traveling to the City tomorrow to help her shop for her ring.  She also told me how Holly from two doors down from her house got onto three girls in a party on the weekend.  So Holly is a Lesbian or a bisexual.  Whichever she is, it raises my ears a couple of notches.

Lyssa then told me how Penelope’s home phone has been disconnected and how her mobile phone is switched off.  Lyssa had to then jump off the phone to talk to Toby about the weekend past.

Phone Lyssa Back

Waiting patiently I called back a little while later when Lyssa had her lunch and had talked to her mum and others on the phone.  We only talked for a couple of minutes.  As a repeat of last night, she had to talk to someone on the phone who just called her.  It was Kiley this time.

Half an hour later I called Lyssa back again.  She was sorry again but once again she had to leave the phone, as she had to iron her clothes and then sow up her pants.  Once again I left it to her to call me back but after more time than she estimated I called her.

Finally finished what she was doing we started talking again but didn’t really have nothing to talk to each other about.  That’s our conversations usually these days.  Before we used to talk for hours on end on the telephone, but these days it has turned out to be about half an hour a night if we are lucky.  It’s a little different when we are together but it’s different since day one.

These days Lyssa and I are both taking more things for granted.

Lyssa Asks About Jewell

Lyssa asked me how long it has been since I have called Jewell.  I told her two weeks or so but I know that was a lie.  Lyssa then suggested I call her one day soon.  After some time I suggested no time like the present.  So in one way I was relieved I didn’t have to go behind Lyssa’s back for this telephone conversation.

After she knew I was talking to Jewell later in the night she acted as if she was being slack when she wanted to get off the phone.  She would feel bad for hanging up and then would ask me if she should hang up.  I knew this was a test of hers, so I asked for her to stay on, even though the time was around 9pm.  Lyssa eventually wanted to go to sleep as I told her goodnight.

Jewell Writes A List Of Topics

Ringing Jewell back she expected my call as she responded.  We told each other that when this phone call came, we would try and get ourselves as quickly as possible into the mood we were in before.  Slowly we worked our way through the conversation and Jewell had a list in her hand of things she wanted to talk about but didn’t.

The Reason Jewell Cut Her Hair

Now getting off that subject and back to our normal telephone conversation.  Getting deep into what Jewell and I talked about, Jewell told me she cut her hair because Simba had seen me with Lyssa one day and had told Jewell that Lyssa looked just like her.  As Jewell had heard this from people before she decided to visit the hairdresser and get her hair cut in spite of jealousy.

Jewell thought back then that I had gone out with Lyssa because she resembled Jewell.  Because Jewell didn’t want to look like Lyssa she cut her hair and was glad she had done it afterwards.  Jewell just didn’t want me to be reminded of Lyssa when I think of Jewell, which never ever happens.

The Right Time To Get Back Together

While we were talking I also spilled my emotions to Jewell.  We got into a huge discussion about when the right time will be for the both of us to be back together.  I told Jewell that the right time would be after Jewell had finished school because I would never want to be second best to anything.

Another personal note, my relationship with Lyssa has to fade away and I have to feel right about it.  Jewell agreed that if we got together today, it would be awkward.  But she told me she just misses having me there.  It has been a very long time since I have seen her.  We both know there is a barrier between us seeing each other now.  That’s Lyssa and I.

Discussing our future I told Jewell that I would have to have a fresh start, just pack up and leave everything and everyone behind except for Jewell.  Everywhere I turn right now, everyone is connected to Jewell or Lyssa in some way.  I can’t tell Imad or Ali (my best friends).  If I tell Imad in strict confidence I can trust him to understand but not to keep quiet.  Imad would probably leak information to Ali about how I truly feel about Jewell.  Of course Ali will tell Penelope and that will get to Lyssa.  So I can’t tell Ali anything at all about Jewell even though he has never seen Jewell.  None of my other friends I can really tell because they all are connected.

So I’m stuck with all these feelings inside me, with no one to tell but Jewell.

Because of this, every day that passes, every fleeting moment I have alone, as I think, most of those thoughts will be of Jewell, our past, present and our future.

Plans To Elope With Jewell

I told Jewell that when the time comes and it is right for the both of us, I will be getting up and moving on.  I want to be around as little people as possible after Lyssa and I part our ways.  Moving far away would limit my chance of bumping into people that know Lyssa and Jewell and could hurt Lyssa by telling her what I’m up to.

As Imad came to my house today with his friend in between calls to Lyssa and Jewell we looked at pictures.  Now that he’s living in a caravan he would be glad to move out with me.  Imad being my best friend and no straight contact to Lyssa would be a good choice to live with.

A Stronger Second Relationship

These feelings for Jewell and I have been building since she dumped me and since the first telephone conversation after that day, some fifty days later.  Ever since then the passion has grown tremendously.  We both think we know what we want out of a relationship.  This relationship will be far greater than what I’ve had, I believe.

For a year Jewell and I have been talking to each other on the phone, getting to know each other in hopes of one day being together.  Since the first day I had ever seen Jewell up in Macarthur Square, as I looked at her I knew.  Not just looking at her body, the way she gracefully moved but also near her and looking at her, there was a sixth sense present.

I just knew Jewell was the one.

You could say it was love at first sight, but I just say it was a tremendous feeling that one day she would be the one.  Since that day, I’ve always thought the same in my head, even though I quickly tried to forget about Jewell after our break up.

Jewell and I talked for three hours tonight (or shall I say last night), before we hung up the phone just after midnight.  Jewell is not upset anymore and we ended the night well.

Jewell Considers Starting A Diary

Since then, I started on my Diary straight away.  With all the browsing of the dates and fixing the recent problem I just had with the computer crash, it has just turned to 3:03am.

Let me just say before I go and probably start working on the artwork once again for the CD that Jewell now has a new computer.  Telling Jewell once again of the capabilities of a Diary on the computer, she was thinking of starting herself a Diary to write in every day.  I’m not sure if she will go through with it but if she does it will be great to look back upon her work one day if she ever lets me.  What can I say.  Great minds think alike.
