Sour East Hills River Date – Mad Chaos: June 9, 1998

Getting back to the story before I took a break, Lyssa and I went to sleep on Sunday night while watching a movie.

Next morning was Monday.  Monday night was a big moment in both our lives.  Lyssa and I had an argument.  That was followed by deep grief and sorrow.

Just browsing about Monday, we started our day getting ready to have our date at East Hills, sitting by the river, calm and relaxed.  On the way to the station we walked and started getting irritated with each other.  Shawn drove past on his motorbike and stopped to talk to me.  Lyssa kept walking, which made me look bad.  Nervously speaking to Shawn, after a few words I told him I had to go.  He understood.

Enraged, I walked the opposite way of Lyssa.  That’s when she started getting worried and called out my name, chasing after me.  Not paying any attention to her I made my way to Campbelltown.  We sort of made up.  Lyssa dropped off some movies that we watched thanks to Ali and Penelope the night before.  Then we headed for the train station.

Thinking that Lyssa was going to catch the bus, we ended up sitting down to wait for the train to East Hills.  Lyssa asked if I still wanted to go.  Nodding my head, we awaited our fate.  Twenty minutes we sat in silence, barely sharing a word, mostly my fault because I didn’t want to talk to someone who would walk away from me.

The train came.  Lyssa and I were talking on the train.  Approaching East Hills we jumped off and firstly looked for an open newsagent.  That would not be found in the ghost town we were treading our feet across.  All the shops were abandoned, broken down or shabby.

Sour East Hills River Date With Lyssa

Heading for the river, we noticed a kid riding around on a motorized billicart.  Lyssa and I walked to the spot we must have sat in six months prior to this date.

Sitting down on a patch of grass that wasn’t wet or soggy, we embraced the moment, but I perceived this place in a different light.  The atmosphere wasn’t the same as six or more months ago when we visited.  The sun was bright and shiny.  Lyssa and I were happy being with each other, taking pictures, smiling, and enjoying ourselves.

In the surreal environment we were in, the sun was hidden behind a dense amount of gray clouds, Lyssa and I weren’t happy and our only focal point was the kid riding around on his billicart.  The significance had been taken away from our East Hills.  The moment was over.  Lyssa and I didn’t stay at East Hills for long, not even fifteen minutes.

Walking back to the train station, we waited for our train for almost half an hour.  In that time Lyssa and I were having a momentous occasion feeling elevated.  Lyssa and I were sitting on the seats talking to each other, as Lyssa would sit on my lap.

Lyssa Gets Her Period Early

The train finally came and we jumped on heading for Campbelltown.  Lyssa kept telling me about problems in her stomach and how she was getting her periods tomorrow.  Asking Lyssa if she was equipped for the day in case they happened, Lyssa told me she wasn’t.

Back in Campbelltown I checked if my money was in.  There was a problem.  Only half of my money was in the bank.  Trying to come to terms with it, I started getting angry.  That money in the bank, Lyssa and I needed to travel to the Novotel in Wollongong in two weekend’s time.  With that money I was also going to buy FHM, but now my plans had fallen short.  Lyssa was also annoyed but she had a far worse problem.

Stopping in her tracks, Lyssa told me she felt like she was having her period, one day early.  Her nightmare came true, as she felt it.  Without any pads she was in trouble.  To make matters worse, it was a public holiday and nothing was open.

Lyssa asked me to quickly run to a chemist so that I could buy her some pads.  Making my way down Queen Street I noticed nothing was open.  Running back up to meet Lyssa, I took her to the toilets in Mawson Park  where she used some toilet paper as a quick fix.  Lyssa and I walked to the train station.  There we both waited for a train to Leumeah.

Centrelink Payment Is Halved

Reaching Leumeah Lyssa tried to call her mum from the payphone but no one was home.  Instead, I called Ali so I could see if he was paid from Centrelink.  Having a chat with him for a minute or two he told me he was paid correctly.  But I didn’t ask him for a lift, even though he knew we were at the station and he was at Penelope’s house.

Lyssa and I began our walk up to her house.  Nearing the top of the street just before the lights, Ali showed up.  Aware that Ali drove down just to pick us up, I was grateful, as we both jumped into his car.

Lyssa is always saying, “I wish I had a car so we could drive around.”

That is a good idea.  Lyssa and I will always have somewhere to go but it won’t happen soon enough.

Invited Into Penelope’s House

Ali invited Lyssa and I to Penelope’s house.  We thought it was a good gesture but thought we should pass up on it.  Ali was persistent.  So we asked him into Lyssa’s house to call Penelope up so we could make sure it was alright.  Penelope talked to everyone in the room in consecutive order.  After Lyssa fixed her problem and I had something small to eat, we jumped back in Ali’s car and headed for Penelope’s house.

Only being to Penelope’s house once, this was the first time I was coming into her house.  I knew that Ali and Penelope were a bit on edge.  Walking to the kitchen I noticed all the brothers in the television room watching television and chatting amongst themselves.  Sitting down on a couple of stools in the kitchen, Penelope started to prepare food for us, our lunch, although it was 5pm.

Ali looked shy and nervous with us in Penelope’s house.  He was probably nervous of how we would think of him.  While Penelope was making the food Ali thought he would pop out of the house to visit his boss.  We knew it was an excuse to escape his shyness.

Lyssa and I were alright sitting there with Penelope.  I wasn’t shy at all, just myself.  Now and again someone would come into the kitchen, but the parents weren’t home.  They were out.  Noticing Magen and his girlfriend I realized he wasn’t that old, or scary for that matter.

Ali came back just in time for dinner, as Penelope lay the food down on the table.  No one was eager to dig into the food.  Ali didn’t want to put too much on his plate, embarrassed that we would watch him eat or something.  Digging into the food, we sat and chatted.  Before we knew it, dinner was over.  When all was done, Penelope cleaned the plates, as we sat around and talked.

Penelope brought down some pictures of the years passed.  There were plenty of pictures in there, some of our formal.  But the one I took notice of was the picture of Bielka, Nikita, Lyssa and Penelope just before they headed for a nightclub.  In particular, I made it clear to everyone on the table that what Bielka was wearing (which was a leather skirt with a short black top, hair wet and curly with a seductive look on her face), was enough to make any guy whimper.  Not being able to put the picture down, Penelope took it off me, shunned at my actions.  It was funny.  Bielka I despise.  I don’t really like her.  Everyone knows that.  But in this picture she was immaculate.

Lyssa Tidies Up To Score A Lift

Lyssa and I left after viewing the pictures.  We were dropped off at Lyssa’s house.  Lyssa asked her mum for a lift to my house, as she wanted to sleep there.  On the condition that Lyssa cleaned her room, her mum would give us a lift.

Lying on Lyssa’s bed I watched her clean her room’s floor up, sorting out her clothes and putting some in the wash.  It is now when Lyssa told me that she would give me something orally tonight because she knew I needed some attention.

All day I was telling Lyssa how much I wanted to do something tonight.  That would have been a great substitute for sex, but it wasn’t to be.  In my head I knew Lyssa wouldn’t do anything for me on Monday night, this is how our argument started.
