Attending Two Interviews In Sydney – Mad Chaos: February 27, 1998

Talking about Thursday, I woke up at 9am and started to get ready for my interview.  Walking to Campbelltown station I had started to notice, with my suit on and all, the weather was hot and getting hotter.  Walking at first to the CES I talked to Lilian before getting my free train passes.

Hyde Park Lunch With Lyssa

Catching the train at 11:30am I traveled to St. James station in Sydney before jumping off.  With enough time on my hands to follow a couple of pretty girls, I met up with Lyssa for lunch.

Lyssa bought us some sandwiches for lunch as we sat down in Hyde Park.  Lyssa and I enjoyed the sunshine and each other’s company, as we talked about my interviews to come.  Finishing what we ate, we then started fighting with the birds, telling them to go away.  Lyssa then walked me to my first interview, as I gave her a kiss goodbye.

Office Administration Traineeship Interview

Traveling to the National Mutual building at 44 Market Street, I headed up to the 18th floor.  Then I continued my journey into the office.  Seated for a couple of minutes I was then greeted by Rene my interviewer.  She did not shake my hand on entry.

Rene was just a bit older than me.  I felt somewhat intimidated, as we were talking through the interview.  She was also embarrassed just a little, speeding the interview up.

What was going through my mind was a story that I once read in a nutrition book.

Girls won’t shake a guy’s hand mainly because they don’t know where it’s been or what he’s done with it.

That was probably her case.  Procedures were explained to me.  I tried to keep the conversation flowing but my voice was too quiet because I was embarrassed.  I’m not sure how the interview went, which means it probably wasn’t that good.  But if I succeed then I will be called back on Wednesday for a second interview.

Walking back to Lyssa’s work I called her up because I forgot to borrow her weekly ticket so I could get around.  She came down from a hectic desk and gave me the card, a kiss, wished me luck, and then ran back upstairs.  Catching the train, I walked from Central up Elizabeth Street for a couple of minutes.

Temping Agency Interview

My second interview was a lot better.  There were plenty of people out the front preparing for classes and seminars.  Walking in, I was given something to fill out and was then escorted in by Adenna my interviewer.  This was in actual fact a temping agency of some sort, a middleman I should say.

They asked me a lot of questions and gave me plenty of helpful information.  At the end of it all Adenna told me that I might be receiving a call back as early as Monday to see if I have a second interview for the position.  The position is near Central station and in a very big legal firm in the City.

Battling Massive Sweat Rash

Catching the train back to St. James I jumped off at Central to have a break and then the rest of the way.  Chasing girls around the City some more, I met up with Lyssa at the end of her workday.  By now by butt was real sore.  Also, because I was walking all day in the heat it had started to sweat, then rub and then cause a rash.  The rash kept rubbing.  Then the rash got bigger.  By this time it was like hot peppers on my butt.  To make it worse, my pants were soaked in sweat.

When Lyssa came out we had to walk to the DX office and then go shopping.  Starting our journey I found it hard walking at all.  Lyssa also had a sore back, but we made it to the DX office.  Waiting out the front I sat down to rest.  Then Lyssa came back out.

Next was shopping.  What I thought would be a simple task I quickly learnt wasn’t.  Lyssa just wanted to buy shoes and a shirt.  I didn’t think we would be visiting around eight stores and spending lots of time browsing and trying on.  Still in pain, we finally finished, satisfied with some dress shoes.

My butt was aching.  To try to soothe it, we walked into the Sheraton and used their toilets.  I tried to get rid of the sweat and ache, but ended up stuffing tissues there to ease it.  Finishing up, we walked to the train station where I used the toilets once more.  Then we boarded the train.

Fantasies Played Out In Public

While on the train Lyssa and I were mucking around heaps.  Lyssa and I were having little pretend fights, pushing each other and trying to fill out a fantasy.  Hiding myself with my jacket, Lyssa unzipped my pants while I was seated and kept her hand warm, even though it was hard to breath.  We sat there laughing hard, as I started making gestures and noises.

Lonestar Dinner With Lyssa

Back in Campbelltown, Lyssa had taken some money out.  She decided it would be good to visit Lonestar.  Lonestar was just as fun, as we sat down in a crowded area and didn’t stop talking until the food was there.  On that fact, the food took ages because of all the people being served.  They mistook us for people that had ordered.  What is this world coming too!

Lyssa and I sat there cracking peanuts on the desk and eating them, as Lyssa told me her capers with Constantine and how they done stupid things one day and laughed hard about them.  The food was good today.  We finished up full.

As Lyssa paid the bill, we walked out the front and sat down on the benches provided.  The time was 9pm.  Lyssa tried calling her mum but she wasn’t home and neither was her brother.  Lyssa wanted both of us to visit her house tonight because there would be no one there, but I didn’t realize.  Instead, Lyssa and I walked to the station where Lyssa waited for her bus and I called my dad to pick me up.

Lyssa left first.  As I gave her a kiss, she told me she would call me when she arrived at her house.  My dad came a minute later.  We talked all the way to my house.  I had seen Jaromir and Miroslav driving with another car like Jaromir’s.

Lyssa Phones

At home I found out that Ali called my house today at 3pm.  Since Lyssa is visiting a party on Saturday and staying there I might gather Ali and Imad and visit the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Lyssa called me.  We talked about tomorrow and what we would be doing.  Lyssa told me she hated being home alone, but luckily her mum came a little later.  Lyssa and I didn’t talk for too long because Lyssa was overdue for sleep.

Me, I stayed up from 10:30pm and I’m still here, still awake.  I’m just about ready to fall asleep.   Tomorrow Lyssa and I don’t know what we are doing but we have one thing clear, we will be with each other.
