Scorcha scales with the story
Tuned Scorcha’s boss fights to appear every seventh level (eight appearances across Story Mode), with health climbing each time: starting at 5, rising to 10, then 15 for the second-last fight, and 25 for the finale. Also began pulling story-mode difficulty forward by 2% per episode, so the game’s late-game intensity (thinner platforms, bigger gaps, unreachable jumps) arrives progressively sooner as episodes advance.
“Eight more days until the game is live”
A genuine milestone moment, shared with Lance on the drive home while he played the newest build:
“I’ve got twelve people testing my game now, on their phones, finding all the bugs… In about eight more days it’ll be on the Play Store and anyone can get it. So we’ve got eight more days until the game is live: isn’t that cool?”
Lance found a genuine bug during that same drive: the revive button respawns you on the exact purple platform that killed you, with no time to react, wasting the coins spent reviving. Filed straight into Claude to fix.
Ice platforms get real physics
Ice platforms finally got the sliding mechanic they were always meant to have: the player skates across them rather than standing still, tongue poking out mid-slide.
A long platform-generation session
Spent the early morning hours building a three-column platform generator (left/centre/right bands that drift over ~25 platforms) so climbing feels less like a straight vertical line and more genuinely varied: while making sure a one-body gap stays open on both sides so players can still fall through when they need to.
