Deciding To Separate With Lyssa – Mad Chaos: April 22, 1998

Another day deeper into the perils of music.  It’s been all-good in that field so far.  There have been great, positive people that I have approached and gained a wealth of information.  But, that’s what it’s all about in the music industry, getting out there and getting to know people.

The Decision To Take A Break

Well, last night I’ll elaborate on the situation I’m having with Lyssa.  When Melrose Place and Beverly Hills finished, Lyssa gave me a call.  It was late for her because she had work.  There we sat on the phone not having anything to say at first, but then it came out.

We talked about the problem.  Right now we are supposed to be taking a break from each other, we both don’t know for how long.  Well, it is working because I’m here and she’s over there.  After our discussion, Lyssa told me to give her a call when I want.  I told her it would most probably be her calling me first.

Then in my head I thought I shouldn’t break this association we’ve had with each other every day, be it on the phone or in person.  So I think I’ll give Lyssa a call tonight.  I’m starting to miss her already inside.

There are plenty of problems and tears in our relationship these days.  That’s why we tend to argue quicker and get at each other’s necks more often.  I just hope we can stick it out to January 1st where Lyssa and I will part our ways for the better.

Visit Nu Town Studios

Waking up this morning at 8am I jumped up to prepare for Sydney.  It was raining outside, no sunny skies, and I had second thoughts about attending the City.  Anyhow, I was up now and there was no stopping me.

Walking to Campbelltown I caught a faster train to the City and then caught another train to Newtown.  Still sprinkling and a cloudy sky, I walked my way towards the studio knowing they would be waiting for me.

All that time, in my head, visions of other studios and how bad they treated me started flashing through my head.

Making it to Nu Town Studios I thought it would be polite to knock.  I was welcomed in and then sent upstairs.

Turning left on a weird flight of steps, I walked into a room with a woman sitting there on the phone.  She had seen me.  As she turned around I thought she was heaps good looking for around 22 years of age.  Blonde, brown eyes, a slim figure, a great set, but the turn off was that she wore weird grungy type clothes and still had pimples on her face.

I told her my story.  She was fascinated that I could read music and admired me for making up a song out of scratch.  We sat there chatting about my music, as she showed me around the two studios.  Then we played around with Midi.  I got to listen to some samples, and she listened to my every word.  We had some laughs, Demi and I.

Then Gavyn came in.  He was the man I was supposed to meet in the first place.  I shook his hand and was impressed by how tall the fella was, over 7 foot tall.

He wanted to meet me, which made me feel great that he took the effort to come from his house.  The night before he was working back in the Studio until 3am and was just sleeping.  When he left after I told him about my music, Demi and I talked again.  There were some cameo appearances from other staff.

Demi then handed me a sheet with prices and told me we could work something out.  We then discussed how they could get me some Black Soul Harmony singers, but it would be hard.  Demi told me she will start to look for instruments for my song already and Gavyn is looking for Soul Singers for me.  It’s a friendly service too.

An hour later after we had our conversation and got acquainted, I grabbed my Drum Media which I had picked up in Campbelltown, grabbed their cost sheet and then headed on my way, saying goodbye on the way out.

Develop My Musical Score

From there I was going to travel to the Entech in the City but because it was raining and I was hungry, I headed home.

Back in Campbelltown I caught a bus to my house.  Since two hours ago I’ve been home.

While I’ve been home I’ve started straight on my music because I’m going back on Wednesday to show them the score for my music.  I’m going to show them all the work for my music, have some CDs of singer’s voices I want and instruments I need.

I’ve been working on my music for the past two hours.  I’ve come up with a fair bit hereafter.  I’ve taken a break now because it’s getting to me.  Not having the right instruments and relying on crappy synthesized instruments and my shit ass MIDI has made me think it sounds more like a rock song.  Hopefully, when I jam it in the studio, it will come out exactly how I want it.  Hopefully the start of my dream, my first song production, will not cost more than a grand.  I’m sure it won’t.

For the rest of tonight, I’m going to wait and then call Lyssa.  Lyssa and I will most likely work something out tonight, but we will just have to wait to find out.
