Sleeping Over Lyssa’s House – Mad Chaos: July 28, 1998

This month has come as a strenuous deliberation period for me.  It’s like my train that was once in motion began running out of steam.  It was only a matter of time until the hill became too steep and I ran out of steam.

This month has been daunting, as I have stopped many tasks of mine.  Deprived of my sleep on many occasions I didn’t sleep last night.

Lyssa’s Movie Night With Braxton

Just after the last words were written in my Diary last night, I received a call at 4am.  Figuring it might be Lyssa I answered the phone and was right.

“I am sick.  My throat is sore, and it is hard to swallow,”she said.

Lyssa was depressed about her condition as we talked on the phone for an hour or more.

As we talked the subject changed to Braxton.

“I am curious.  Why did you come home at 4am on the weekend with Braxton if you said you only visited a pub?  Don’t the pubs close earlier?”

“We were both drunk, so we left the pub near midnight.  When we came back to my house he waited for me in the lounge room because I had to get dressed,” Lyssa answered.

This angered me.

You know straight away that Braxton is after something when the target is a lonely house, especially when he admitted he was after her.

“My mum was home,” Lyssa continued.  “Braxton talked to her about Misty the cat.”

Now Lyssa’s mum realizes that Lyssa is moving on, which would make me feel bad in her future presence.

“We both couldn’t be bothered going to Chevy’s for the night.  But we didn’t want to have an early night, so we stayed up to watch a movie.  He was too tired to drive home, so he went to sleep on the couch.”

Lyssa finally sent him on his way home at 4am in the morning.  That sounds a bit suss to me, but I tried to get as much information as I could.

Lyssa Invites Me Over

“Do you want to come over to my house today after you wake up?  I will be lonely all by myself at home,” she invited.

“Okay.  I will stay awake and then make my way to your house.”

Perception led me to believe that it won’t be long until Lyssa steers away from me so as not to upset Braxton.  For that reason I mentioned our hotel plans.

“We should plan our night at a hotel earlier?  What do you think if we book a hotel two weeks earlier?”

In the early hours of the morning Lyssa was cautious but still accepted our night out.

Lyssa left the call at 5:30am.  I then started watching television to keep myself awake until 7:30am

Bump Into Clayton In Town

Time passed.  It was then time to chuck some warm clothes on and head for Lyssa’s house.  Missing an earlier bus by a couple of minutes, I sat myself down at the bus stop for twenty minutes enjoying the soaking morning sun.  Winds were soaring, as people filled up the bus stop.

Then I noticed Clayton walking up.  Greeting him, we jumped onto the bus.  He told me how Johnnie now has a new girlfriend who works at Sandy Beach.  Hearing that I was into music production his friend (who is known to all as ‘Snoopy’ in Campbelltown because he’s tall, black, skinny and resembles ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg’) might call me up to work with me.

Snoopy and I first noticed each other ages back.  I remember the first party that I attended with Lyssa, he was there.

Jumping off the bus I bid farewell to Kieran and made my way up the platform stairs.  Late was the train in leaving.  Jumping off at Leumeah, I bumped into Sama.  Exchanging only a few words as we walked our ways, it was goodbye and then on my long walk to Lyssa’s house.

Sleep Over Lyssa’s House

Knocking on the door, I knew Lyssa would be asleep.  She opened the door with her old brown jumper, checkered black pants and scruffy hair.  Running back to her bedroom, her intentions and mine were to have some more sleep.  There was more room in her mum’s room so we took our blankets there and lay down.

“Can I have a hug,” Lyssa asked.

After some playful resistance, I hugged her because she was sick.

Truthfully, intentions on my mind were those of pleasure.  I knew this might be the last time that the both of us could have our last embraces.  Hugging Lyssa, I let my hand wander slightly.

When I would wander too far, Lyssa would remark, “Only boyfriend and girlfriend can do that.”

Over the phone Lyssa sounded inviting to me, but the case was now different.  Feeling that my manhood desires were taking me over, I kept being cunning and elusive to Lyssa’s negativity to my passes.

Lyssa wanted it also, as she jumped on top of me one.

“Can you ring my work up for me,” she pleaded.

By this time I was angry that I was being rejected.  Once more I tried.  Lyssa let me move around for a little while, but after a brisk word to me, being polite, she walked to watch television.

Dismayed by the response, I tried to sleep, as the curtains were closed oblivious to what just transpired.

Lyssa Cancels Our Hotel Plans

Sleeping for four hours, I awoke myself.  I then sat there knowing I didn’t want to confront Lyssa and jump out of bed.

Laying in bed with my eyes on the roof, I kept thinking to myself why Lyssa changed her mind.

Apart from the reason that it was wrong, I believed that a part of her didn’t want to be untruthful to Braxton who will one day be hers.

Just like Lyssa said to me after getting onto me, “As soon as I had seen you I forgot about Jermaine and Braxton.”

That’s what I expect her reaction to be with Braxton.  Not on the exact note, but she wants to be fresh and not misrepresented as dishonest or a tramp.

“I had a think about the hotel.  I no longer want to rent a hotel room anymore.  I feel like it’s the wrong thing to do,” she shared.

Lyssa came back into the room and noticed I was angry.  Consulting with me, she lay next to me with her hands around me.

“What’s wrong?  Tell me,” she asked about my dilemma.

Keeping my thoughts to myself, I kept my eyes on the roof most of the time.

Walking Away From Lyssa

Lyssa knew something was wrong, but the phone rang.  She had to answer it.  This gave me time to think to myself.  I knew that if I kept myself at Lyssa’s house then I would try again when I was out of bed.  Instead, putting my shoes on, I grabbed the overdue movies that Lyssa probably watched with Braxton and then bid her farewell while she was still on the phone.

Lyssa ran to the front door as I walked through.

Toni!  Don’t go!  Stay,” she called.

Lyssa didn’t understand what was so wrong, but I couldn’t stay.

“See you,” I bid her farewell and kept walking.

“Toni,” Lyssa once again called out to me from the back veranda.

But I was once again flustered in how I should react.

“Goodbye,” I said and kept walking home.

Napping At Home

With only four hours of sleep I was tired and I didn’t turn back.  Running through my mind now is who was on the phone with Lyssa.  Walking home was a strenuous task, as I was completely exhausted from no sleep and had nothing to eat for some time.

Home at 2:30pm, I went to sleep, as there was nothing else for me to do.  For two hours I slept.

When waking up I tried calling Lyssa.

She answering her phone.

“Hi.  Kieran is over right now,” she informed me.

“Okay.  I will let you go then,” I said.

I let her go.

For the next hour I watched television until Lyssa called back at 6pm.

“Kiley and Kieran have now broken up,” Lyssa enlightened me.  “Kieran was crying over my house. Kiley was on the phone also crying.  I was caught in the middle so I didn’t take any sides.”

Then the topic turned to me.

“Why did you leave my house the way you did?”

Lyssa had an idea in her head and kept badgering me until I told her my reason.

“I left because of what you said about Braxton.  It seems you are involving him in your plans when you said it would be the wrong thing to do to go to a hotel with me,” I revealed.

“I knew that was your problem from the start,” she admitted.

We talked about that for ten minutes, not being able to reach an agreement on whether or not she’s involving him in her plans.
