A Music Production Game Plan – Mad Chaos: June 4, 1998

Another day has passed in the month, still early, and even though days have been boring at home, accomplishments have been made.

Develop Song ‘You Will Always Be Mine’

Starting with last night, after writing in my Diary I remembered the melody I had in my head for one of my lyrics.  With the composition running in my mind I turned on my electric piano and started belting out some tunes.  Minutes turned into hours.  Before I knew it the time was 5am and I had written out plenty of ideas for my song “You will always be mine”.  Because this song to me is based with a piano, I didn’t find it hard to work out chords and a melody for the song.  Right now I’m halfway through it and I think I’m making a comeback to the piano.

A Plan For My Musical Career

I’ve always got ideas in my head of study now.  In years to come I know I will study everything major when it comes to my music production.  My game plan, here’s what is involved.

Firstly, I want to take an Audio Engineering Course at SAE or JMC Academy.  While there I will be studying the piano and probably do a course at the University of Music for the piano.  Later in life I want to buy a piano and then take a course on Music Production.

From this point I would like to start major work with studios and begin tracking the process of collaborating with a band, establishing a name and producing the band as well as being a pianist.  On the way to the top I will take some small courses on how to mix live music and digital editing.  I will learn all the major instruments and how they sound.  I will also learn Vocoding.

If I ever become a vocal, it will be like that of Roger Troutman.  From what I’ve heard, Roger Troutman only appears in songs that have Vocoding (which is using your voice to take the characteristics of an instrument).  When Roger sings, it’s only with a Vocoder.  In my voice I don’t have full trust but I could express myself solely through a Vocoder, although I could probably take singing lessons.

Yes I know in what direction I’m going when it comes to life.  In the meantime, between study and theory, I will have to get myself a job to get the income rolling.

Speaking of income, I was supposed to see Nini in the City today but didn’t go.  While I was on the phone to Ali tonight, Nini called me at 6:40pm and asked why I wasn’t in the City.  Coming up with the excuse that I couldn’t come, I told her I tried ringing her phone but her voicemail came on.  Nini tried to set another date with me, but I’m not really interested in the position.

Lyssa Phones From Work

This morning Lyssa called my house at 1pm.  Luckily for me I was just waking up.  She was astounded that I was awake for so long last night.  Lyssa was happy at work today but she was sad because I wasn’t coming to Campbelltown when she gets her hair cut.

The reason I’m not going (if I didn’t mention it last night) was that Carleigh is going to be there the whole time and I don’t want to be stuck there for a couple of hours talking to Carleigh while Lyssa is comfortable dying her hair.  There will be no chance for me to talk to Lyssa.  When it is time to leave, Carleigh will give me a lift home and that’s it.  It will be no quality time with Lyssa.  The reason Carleigh was going, there wasn’t going to be anyone at Lyssa’s house for a while so who else to bother in that time.

As Lyssa went back to work I thought hard about what I was going to do for the day.  The first thing I had done was pick up the phone and inquire about a Digital Visual FX Traineeship that I had seen in the ‘Drum Media’.  The person wasn’t in for that so I asked for him to call me back.

Teachers, Students, Schools, Language Partners, all in the one community. Jiaoyu Community.

Organize Sessions Singers For Song

Already on the phone, I decided to give a couple of studios a call so that I can set up some dates that I can visit them.  I’m looking for a new digital studio that can help me record the vocals and also record straight onto CD.  I think I found a place.  There were two interesting places I tried, one near Sydney and the other one in Dulwich Hill.

Also on the agenda, I called ‘Nu Town Studios’ to talk about Mac (the guitarist they are arranging for me).  At first I talked to Demi but didn’t really get a word in because I was timid.  Shunning me away I called back a couple of minutes later to get rough, but she had stepped out for a couple of hours.  Instead, I talked to Gavyn.

With some points of conversation written down on the computer I stuck to my story.  Sitting there, we talked for a couple of minutes and came to agreement about some things.  Gavyn is trying to arrange me to meet Mac on Wednesday where I can have a talk to him about my music.  Demi is supposed to be writing out the score for the guitar piece for him.  Happy that I had that talk, I forgot to ask Demi about the male vocalist she could probably arrange for me.  So far, I only have one vocalist.

I’m awaiting a demo tape from the last person I talked to.  I think he could be the one but until that happens, nothing is clicking.  One vocalist will not be enough for me to finish off this song.  Placing an ad in a largely circulated magazine, you would expect to get more of a response than a couple of people for R&B within NSW, but surprisingly, interest wasn’t that great.

A Small Tiff With Lyssa

Finishing with my telephone conversations I had a shower, turned on my computer and then began dialing Lyssa’s work number.  Lyssa and I talked for a little while but we both seemed a bit on edge because I wasn’t seeing her tonight.

Lyssa then came out with the typical, “We haven’t seen each other much this week.”

That started a little tiff.  Lyssa and I eventually got over it.  I asked Lyssa to give me a call when she gets back from the hair salon tonight.

Imad Drops In To Play Computer

Today I didn’t really touch the computer much until Imad came over.  Parking his deteriorating Celica out the front of my house he marched in, gave me back my CD and then wanted to play the computer.  Imad didn’t come over for any particular reason as we sat down and he played the computer.  Firstly he called Chanel (which is the redheads name now that I remember).  Imad played the computer for 20 minutes.  Then he was off to pick up Chanel from work.

In that time we talked about the weekend and how he knows of a little party going on in the City.  From what I heard, one of Imad’s friends from Mobil is having a little hotel room party in the City.  It’s the guy’s birthday.  Imad will enjoy the company of the beautiful, drugged up girls that will be there, or so he says.

Imad also told me how he asked for a job at Mobil again and they gave it to him.  I suppose he needs the money.  His car needs to be fixed and urgently.

Passing Kupere At Home

There was nothing to do today except fill out forms for Centrelink and arrange plans for my music.  While sitting here I worked a bit more on my music, but left that to be now.

When it started to get dark I had closed the curtains.  Replacing the computer light with that of the glimmering lights on the television, I was hooked to the news.  After that I watched some more television awaiting Lyssa to come back home.

Ali Invites Me To Summernats

Time passed and Ali gave me a call rescuing me from boredom.  Ali and I talked about the Summernats coming up soon.  To explain it, that represents a bunch of hotted up cars in Canberra displaying their power and talent.  Ali is traveling down there in December and he wants me to go with him.  Happy to go, Ali told me how he was going to enter every contest imaginable and how he was going to win the burnout competition.

Ali was inviting Penelope and Imad.  We were only traveling in one car where the event went for four days.  Thinking that Lyssa would probably get upset that I would be away for four days, I then thought that I probably won’t be with Lyssa anymore.  Sad to think.

Ali then told me how he has five pages of car mags in Imad’s car for me to copy onto the car pictures on my computer.  Eventually we both had to leave to have something to eat, but we arranged Saturday night.  Getting bored of the City, we thought to travel a distance on Saturday night and probably go to Canberra or The Entrance.  But I gather he won’t have petrol, and that the City it will be for the party.

Lyssa Dyes Her Blonde Hair

My patience was being tested tonight, as the clock ticked to 9:30pm and Lyssa still didn’t ring.  Calling Lyssa’s house, her brother answered but Lyssa wasn’t there.  Calling the hair stylist, there was no answer.  So I was hoping that Carleigh didn’t leave her to catch a bus and go home early.  It got to the point where I was going to ring Imad so we could check the train station to see if she was alright.  Trying Lyssa one more time, she was just coming in the door, so I was relieved.

Lyssa told me how her hair is now considerably shorter and how she feathered her hair.  The shortest part of her hair came to her chin where the longest was just above her shoulders, short.  As for the hair color, there was no more yellow blonde in there, but sort of an off white as she described it.  So, not necessarily bleached hair but getting there.

After twenty minutes on the phone Lyssa had to go to sleep, so I let her go.  I can only imagine what she will be like tomorrow morning as she went to bed around 10:30pm.

Plans For The Long Weekend

This weekend is a long weekend.  Tomorrow night Lyssa is visiting the Catholic Club with a couple of friends.  After that Lyssa is sleeping over my house.

Saturday night I’m going out with Ali and Imad.

Then Sunday Lyssa is sleeping over my house because of the long weekend.

Monday morning, Lyssa and I are waking up to head for East Hills.  It’s been a subject on our minds for quite a while now but we’ve never put it to action.  Hopefully this weekend East Hills will happen.

Tomorrow when I wake up I’m visiting Campbelltown to hand in my form, look for a job, and then head back home.  Tomorrow night the State of Origin for Rugby League is happening so I will watch that.

Eager To Start Exercising

Just now before writing in my Diary I had the urge to do some sit ups or crunches.  My approach to this now is that I will try and do crunches every night and once a week I will do a workout.  Trying to motivate myself, I can only hope it works out for me.

While Lyssa is at my house tonight I will be receiving a strenuous workout (both of us will), but I’m hoping we can both do some crunches.

Plan To Photograph Kylie Minogue

Wednesday, what can I say, I’m looking forward to seeing Kylie Minogue.  Not a fan at all, I admire her and there is a distinct attraction towards her saying I must see her.  Kylie Minogue is also one of the pictures in my artwork for the CD.  I’m hoping by taking my camera I can use a better picture than what I have.  I’m hoping that Kylie Minogue will surprise and shock me with her look.  I just can’t wait.

As for now, it’s time to jump off the computer, do some other little tasks and then get some earlier sleep tonight.
