An Ambition To Produce Music

Yep, it’s an official new day of the month now and there have been some surprises and new finds.  Right now I’m listening to “KCi & Jo Jo” on CD, which I haven’t returned to Dina yet.  It has set the mood for my newest song, which I have put in this month’s Diary.

I told Lyssa just then as I got off the phone about my push towards spending money to record a song and looking forward to work experience and no money in an industry that is shaky and grim.  Lyssa didn’t understand why I was spending money on things like this instead of paying my bills.

I figure, doing the thing that I love will one day make me the money to pay for the days of struggle that I went through to make it in what I believe in.

I can see my ambition to produce music and work in a recording studio, with bands across Australia and around the world.  To me, that dream is a reality down the road of time, and that’s all it takes, time, a little bit of patience, and plenty of love.  Like all the stars that have donned music stores already, I wish to place some more new names on the shelves, as they sing my tunes.  Millions of people around the world will appreciate the sound that I have given and the joy people will find in my sounds.

The Digital Multi track Studio Dream

Picking up the “Drum Media” today I browsed through and found some interesting news and information.  From things like duplication of CDs and art on CD covers, to having information sent out regarding a Midi course.  I’ve been getting very interested in learning the guitar lately or having someone with me that’s a guitarist so we can collaborate on some music.

Midi is a step up in the industry, as I can use my computer and sample some guitar sounds onto my keyboard together with some other sounds, and then start making some professional tracks.  What I see happening in the future is me expanding what I have as an interface and sound system in my house, and to make it into a Digital Multi track Studio.  There’s no stopping my ideas.

Job Applications In Music Industry

Other things I found in the Drum Media were jobs.  I found this very interesting.  I applied for one job that has to do with computers and is in a radio station.  They are sending me a startup package in the mail for that position.

There is also a studio that I called up.  Even though they are analogue and old, they deal with production and recording.  They supply band members that can play instruments, vocalists, a studio and an Audio Engineer, basically everything that a songwriter would need.  Their prices are fairly low.  I am traveling to Newtown to visit their studios tomorrow.  I will talk to a lady called Demi.

I’ve made it clear to myself that this is the start of my real journey on this earth.

I will take my music seriously and I will start playing my electric keyboard again, instead of letting it gather dust in the corner of my room.  And the “Drum Media” I will collect every week to pursue my dream.

Using The Library Printers

Waking up today around 9am I had a shower, but had no plans on attending my interview with Macbec.  Instead, after finishing up loading my song script onto a disk I got a lift from my parents to Campbelltown.  With only a couple of dollars to my name I headed for the Library and started printing my song in color.  What should have taken a couple of minutes took half an hour because the women there are idiots.  I also copied it in black and white so I could write down the basic notation of the song.

I remember this hot girl with her boyfriend at the library.  As she was sitting down her body looked superb, long brown tanned legs, shiny black skirt that clung to her body, and a very long torso with a great sized chest on her.  Her face was brilliant as she glanced out of the corner of her eye at first and then looked at me.  With her blonde hair and wonderful blue eyes, I was very turned on by the fact that she had beautiful definition in her eyes.  Not only were her eyes blue but what I am also turned on by (I recognize now) is that I could see plenty of white in her eyes, perfect white.

When she stood up she had the body of a cobra with long legs, great butt, broad shoulders and her torso made her look off balance but it was attractive, not to mention her long arms.  As she walked out, she glanced a couple of times at me.  Her boyfriend wasn’t that bad for her.  I watched as she disappeared from my life and out the doors with her black, knitted sweater.

Listening To Music Central

Gratified, I walked out of the library and then began my trek to central Campbelltown.  While there I also found out the main program that I always talk about regarding freely listening to songs from new CDs on the internet.  The program is called ‘Music Central’ and they have it on the computers at Campbelltown library.  It doesn’t cost the world.  When the 1998 version is out I am buying a modem and joining the list.

Home Alone In Lyssa’s House

Catching the train and having nothing to eat yet I walked to Lyssa’s house with my song curled up in my hand.  Using my Credit Card to open the door as I usually do, I helped myself to some food, as Lyssa gave me a call.  We talked for a couple of minutes as she was still working but she told me how Kiley quit work.  Kiley had a big fight with one of the consultants at her work on Monday morning.  The boss didn’t care when Kiley confronted her boss about it.  So, Kiley quit.   Friday is her last day.

My Song Making Process

Man I’m enjoying this month.  I’m enjoying the high that I get out of producing my own songs and then hearing them in my mind over and over again.  Imagine what it would be like when they actually come out on CD.  Will they be all I wanted them to be or better?  I’ll have to keep dreaming of the day and find out.  Now that I’m trying to make it in this business I’m starting to appreciate other people that are trying to make it.

Looking through the “Drum Media” at Lyssa’s house I thought to myself what would be the best method of writing and producing a song?  I found that some people use a loop of a song that they think sounds good and then listening to that over and over.  They would start to form a song making the mood for the music and then expanding the notation and scaling and pitch of the music.

Instead, I work from the other end.  I write out the lyrics for my music first and then the harmony is in my head, the beat, the bass, all of it.  all I have to do is just get it onto paper and then recorded.  My next step after the notation is to work out the sounds I will be using with my songs, and then combine them on a track.  It’s all mathematics.

Visit Sanity In Macarthur Square

I then thought I should visit Macarthur Square to listen to some CDs, since I had a list in my pocket.  With an hour to spare I caught the train and then visited the two main shops to listen to some songs.  Sanity was the preferred choice.  I stopped there and listened to three albums, which I like all of them.

Flirting With The Blonde Girl

When it was closing time I headed for Macarthur Square train station and boarded the train.  Sitting outside I noticed a girl, blonde hair and a great body.  I could tell she was cold.  This girl with not that bad a face (and once again, blonde hair) was sitting on the chairs.  I glanced at her time to time from my spot on the train.  There would be times when she would look back.  Then we both realized we were looking at each other.

She started paying more attention towards me and gave out a little smile at times.  But then some ugly working man sat next to her.  Starting to talk to her, she was distracted.  We still glanced at each other.  As the train was leaving I had one last look.  I can’t help it if I appreciate women.  I’m just not sure if Lyssa would appreciate reading this.

Lyssa Loans Money For Suit

Back at Campbelltown station I waited twenty minutes for Lyssa to turn up.  Then we walked to get money out.  Lyssa was angry because all her money was gone.  I thanked her as she handed over $180 to me.  That money is to pay for my suit, which I will be collecting tomorrow.  I will be getting up at 8am to visit Parramatta and then Sydney.

Lyssa and I bought some hot chips and I bought some hot pumpkin.  Then we headed for the train station so Lyssa could wait for her bus.  There was nothing to do, so we ate our hot chips.  Then when Lyssa’s bus arrived I scraped up some change.  Kissing Lyssa, she jumped on her bus.  I waited till she left.  We pulled faces at each other and waved until she was out of sight.

Bump Into Sonya

Running through Campbelltown I was nearing Bradbury when I bumped into Sonya.  I didn’t think I would be talking to her for so long but we got into some discussions and talked for about twenty minutes.  She told me about her boyfriend that she has been going out with for four months and how he doesn’t let her out.  Then she told me how Phoenix still likes Rory but he broke up with her because of her bitchiness.

Rory is driving Tino’s old car around because his car is having some work done to it.  We talked about Lyssa and how I have been seeing her for nine months.  Then we talked about who I hang out with and how now, we both have the problem of commitment and not having as much friends as a result.  Sometime later I kept walking to my house, and here I am now.

MIDI Music Production

I’m getting very excited about the prospects of working with music.  Every day will be a new experience.

Now it’s time for me to go.  I will probably work on the notation of my songs and then use Midi on my Piano.  No telling what I’ll get up to.
