Develop My Song With MIDI – Mad Chaos: April 2, 1998

Last night I got up to a hell of a lot.  Firstly, I finished most of the notation on my new song.  Then I thought I would check out a document that was about the CD I’m making one day for Jewell.  Getting into the artistic side of the CD cover I developed an idea for the front cover.  I then expressed that idea by drawing a CD and then mixing some pictures into it. 

What the CD will have printed is a picture of my dead body scrawled over the whole CD.  On the top of the CD, a picture that I keep and have always thought it looked like Jewell (looking over her shoulder), and a picture of a Grand Piano in the bottom corner.

What I had done was put the picture of me there first, then cut out the hole in the middle.  After that I drew a piano using the drawing icon, made it 3D and then edited it on a paint program.  When all that was done I took a picture of a statue’s head and placed it at the top.  Then I smeared the unblended colors together so they would look more natural.  In the end, I placed the word Remembrance around the middle as the birthmark name of the CD. 

Then with another option I put cracks in the CD as to make it look Aztec and blurred the piano to make it look more real.  This illustration is not that far off what it will really look like but the difference will be a real piano drawing and Jewell’s picture look alike.

Purchase Suit From Parramatta

Yep, today I woke up at the time I said.  Getting ready, I walked to Campbelltown with my camera.  Catching a train I felt I was already late as I made it to Parramatta.  Buying the suit, I was happy to hand over the amount of money that was in my wallet. 

Out of the shop I was walking around and as I was heading down the escalator, a girl noticed me and then made her friend notice.  As they were looking at me while traveling up another escalator, I smiled at them.  They smiled back.

After looking at some shops I went to take a picture of the baby grand piano in Westfield shopping but was embarrassed.  It wasn’t that good a piano anyway.  Walking some more I bumped into the girls again.  One of the girls wore army pants that were army colors (in style pants).  She looked terrific in them.  This time as I passed and we smiled at each other I waved to them, and then continued on my way.

Visit Nu Town Recording Studio

In Sydney I was late for the Internet, so I rebooked two hours later.  In that time I traveled to Newtown to visit Nu Town Studios.  Walking a long way down the main road I had to ask directions at one stage, but finally found it.  Even though I found it at the back of the main street around housing, I didn’t find anyone when I knocked or even entered the premises.  It looked like a hole.  For me to produce my work there was funny, so I left.

I noticed some crazies in the City today.  As I was sitting on the train, this guy sat across from me.  As I usually do, I glanced around the arena and found him to be looking at me.  Looking back, we were caught in a gaze for too long and we both got angry.  Having a bottle in my hand, I was clutching it and getting frustrated.  But he eventually moved away and sat somewhere else.

Confused With How To Use The Internet

Jumping off at the City again I used the internet for an hour but I found it disappointing as the modems were very slow.  Because I was confused with the internet I didn’t get past any search menus except for once.  Trying to look for my subject topic proved tricky.  Frustrated as I was, I left early.

In that time I looked for premises in Sydney that sold pianos or would have one on display.  Visiting Centrepoint, I took a picture of the baby grand piano there, but I’m not sure how it will turn out.  I visited the old sanctuary of the Institute of Music and took another picture of the building.  I traveled to another place but to no avail. 

Train Ride Home With Lyssa

Finally I headed to meet with Lyssa.  I was a couple of minutes late and gave her a kiss. Lyssa and I headed to do the mail and the DX, something she calls routine now.  I hadn’t eaten since the morning.  Lyssa was tired and frustrated too, as we jumped on our train full of passengers. 

Most of the way home we were resting but we talked occasionally about my suit and what we had both done for the day.  Nearing home, we got into a dispute because Lyssa didn’t want to walk home.  So I gave her the last of my money.  Lyssa then complained that I didn’t want to spend time with her because I wanted to go straight home and rest.  So, I opted to jump off at Leumeah and wait for her bus.  That’s what happened.  It silenced the both of us. 

Lyssa and I waited for 20 minutes for her bus.  Lyssa was upset because I was mucking around with her and she was getting tired of that side of me.  She caught her bus, and we kept waving to each other when she was leaving.

Imad Reveals Ali’s Confession

Catching the train to Campbelltown I then walked the darkness home and then locked it out.  Turning on the lights, I called Imad first.  We talked for half an hour of how we haven’t had a night out for a while and how we haven’t seen each other. 

He then told me how Ali told Penelope that he had done “something” with the girl that sucked his dick (supposedly), but he didn’t go all the way and tell the whole truth.  Obviously, Penelope was angry but not as much as she would have been if she found out the whole truth.  Imad was supposed to come over and pick up Dina’s CD but he didn’t.

Lyssa Is Angry About Money

Calling Lyssa also tonight, she was angry with me over the phone.  I felt it was because she had no money as a result of me.  She gave me almost all of her pay and now she complains she doesn’t have enough to catch a bus or go out on the weekend.  I am partly wrong.

Firstly, Lyssa didn’t have to give me the money, but because she is generous, she did.  Secondly, if she had paid me $25 a week like we were supposed to do, there would be no problem this week.  Apart from that, from the money I’ve been saving I’ve given $75 to Lyssa for some reasons (like so she could buy a shirt a day early).  So it’s not really my fault that she’s broke this week.  But because I feel to blame just as much, I am trying to get some money off my parents so she can have some fun this weekend.

Reviewing The New Suit

I’ve tried on my suit just now and it looks great.  Whenever you get something back from the store, it looks or feels different than what you remember and had seen.  For example, a good thing is that the shirt is more stretchable than before, which I like.  The shirt looks great.  What I didn’t notice was the suit is darker than what I thought.  I can’t remember how to put the collar on correctly.  I wasn’t paying attention to the man.

Creating MIDI Music

While I’ve been home tonight I’ve been thinking more on my music.  I have taken it a step further by working out the chords and exactly what instrument plays and when.  I’ve been using Midi slightly tonight, but I feel that my Midi compatible electric keyboard hasn’t enough kick to work good with my computer. 

Tonight I will keep working on my music and remember in my mind that the inspiration for me to go further and further is Jewell and the thought of finishing this CD and giving it to her some time down the track.

Already this month is turning out to be a long one.  I must say, there are some changes coming through both in my diary and out.  I see, at the end of this month that I have started to record the instruments for my song.  Then next month I will start to look for a band to rehearse with and finally sing the lyrics of my song.

Consider Jamming With Ralf

I’ve been thinking that I need a live guitar to get the right chords for my song, so I thought Ralf would be a great pick.  Ralf used to come over my house with his amp and guitar and we used to jam together.  Now if I use him, we can work out this song and record it onto the computer if needed, as a basic notation tool.  With Ralf, I also believe I will get some inspiration and good facts about the business, since he was full of conversation about the topic.
