A Low Bar For Job Interviews – Mad Chaos: February 5, 1998

Today was a very good day for me, as I woke up at 11 am for my interview in Liverpool.  On average, I’ve been to eight interviews on average a fortnight, and that’s plenty.

Johnnie Offers A Lift

Having a shower and then having something to eat, I waited for my parents to come back from shopping and then walked to the bus stop near Brock and Clayton’s house.  Sitting there for ten minutes I noticed Brock, and waved to him.  A minute later Johnnie drove up the street and then drove back to me.

Johnnie offered me a lift, so I jumped in, happy to oblige.  As soon as I got in the car I received a call from a company I applied a brochure from.

After my telephone conversation Johnnie and I started talking again but we were once again interrupted by the telephone.  This time it was Lyssa calling from work.  It was nice to see her call me, as we talked for a minute or so.

Johnnie gave me a lift to Campbelltown train station.  I thanked him as I jumped out of the car.  Cheekily, he never got a word in.

The Job Interview In Liverpool

Catching my train to Liverpool with an overpriced ticket, I jumped off and started walking to my interview.  Walking inside the premises I firstly noted the receptionist who was dressed tacky and wasn’t all that interesting.  It was obvious she wasn’t that good a receptionist.  Then more horror as my interviewer was away sick.

Instead, I had a dopey person as my interviewer.  He was a redneck fake American but silly-ass talking mother fucker.  You could tell that he got his job from a 20 cent machine.

The Laughable Pre-Interview Test

What amazed me more was that they gave me a form to fill out and it had a test on it.  I couldn’t help but to laugh over mistakes that were scattered all in the form.  I laughed thinking that the receptionist had something to do with the spelling and grammar mistakes.

After all the mistakes and a couple of pages of useless information later there came a test, which I had to complete for them to view my application.  Thinking that it would be slightly hard, I was stunned to find they had the most basic and mentally stupid questions within the form.  That made me laugh again to think how lame the people were to give us grade two questions (and that was their BIG TEST).

A Confident Job Interview

After my test I was walked into the interview room.  I must say, because I wasn’t afraid or worried about the position, I was in the best position to talk and make myself wary.  This was the best interview I’ve been on because the answers were all full, all great answers, and the interviewer loved my talents so much (even though he looked like he was new at interviews and made me think he was an idiot) that he called in someone else to look at my résumé.

As all three of us discussed my talents, we figured out that I was looking for a Multimedia, Networking and Secretarial position.  The interviewer made one thing seem right.

I didn’t want to be a receptionist or a secretary for the rest of my life.

Portrait Prints In Campbelltown Mall

After an hour of discussion I wasn’t arranged for an interview but I was definitely receiving a call in a day or two.  They are trying to arrange an interview with a large computer company.

Leaving Liverpool, I came back to Campbelltown where I walked to the Mall to shop.  Leading my way there by following a pretty girl or two, I found myself at a film-processing store.  With a negative of me in my pocket (one that Lyssa loves and would like framed in her room), I decided to have it worked on.  I had it reprinted and sized on Image Magic.

Organizing Valentine’s Day Present

While waiting for the photo to be printed I walked into Bras N Things where I thought it would be a good idea to buy Lyssa some Lingerie.  Thinking that I should put some effort into buying Lyssa presents for Valentine’s Day, I looked around for something nice.  Not embarrassed, I received some help from the counter lady.

Twenty minutes later I picked out a very nice G-String with lacing at the top and a push up bra with lacing and padding.  Having it placed in a box, I walked to collect my picture, which came with two wallet-sized photos as well.

Walking upstairs at Campbelltown Mall I shopped around for a photo frame and decided to buy one almost the same as what Lyssa gave to me.  After that I had images in my head of what would make Lyssa happy, since it’s been a couple of months I’ve even written her a poem.  What I wanted to do was show Lyssa that we still have sparkin our relationship, and that after all this time I still care greatly for her, and she is still my number one.

Since Lyssa loves Titanic the movie and she told me she would love to have the soundtrack, I walked into Sanity.  After a short listen I bought it.  Not finished there, I walked into a flower shop and asked for some prices regarding sending Roses.  Also in my mind was sending Lyssa a poem like old times.

Walking down Queen Street I noticed an adorable fluffy puppy dog and thought it would look great sitting next to my photo frame in Lyssa’s room.  Buying the puppy dog I found it also came with some chocolates all wrapped in plastic.

So now all I have to do is buy Roses on the day, have the poem (which I’ve already written) printed and then next Friday, I’ll break into her house, place her items either in the kitchen or in her room and wait until she finds them.

Writing A Poem For Lyssa

Catching a bus home I had something to eat and then jumped onto my computer to write Lyssa’s poem.  Receiving inspiration from the soundtrack, I wrote her a nice short letter for her valentines.

Lyssa was at dinner with Velda and Rita at Lonestar while I was writing the poem.  After I was finished I waited for Lyssa’s call.  The time ticked near 8:30pm and Lyssa didn’t call yet.  So I took it upon myself to call her.

Lyssa Fears The Storm

Lyssa wasn’t home yet which I thought was weird but waited it out half an hour more.  Calling Velda I found out that she drove home with her mum half an hour before.  Calling Lyssa back, she couldn’t talk for long because she was afraid of the storm and its effects.

Half an hour later Lyssa called me back but we only talked for a couple of minutes before it was time for her to sleep.  Lyssa is shopping in the City tomorrow with Rita.  I’m not sure if I will make it or not.

Play Computer Games With Imad

Imad came over tonight.  As we played my computer I asked him if he would help me out tomorrow by driving me to St. Patrick’s High School so I can return Lyssa’s books and get her yearbook.  Imad was alright with that, but I think if I don’t ring him tomorrow he’ll scoot off somewhere.

After I’m finished at St. Patrick’s I might meet Lyssa in the City, depending on if I have time or not.

Well, it’s taken me this long to write my entry because I was playing computer games and forgot.  This has been happening quite a bit lately since I’ve put some more games on my computer.  The games aren’t that good but they are addictive.

Right now I’m going to explore my Diary and find out how much days I haven’t been together with Lyssa lately.  Today was a first.  It’s been so long since Lyssa and I haven’t seen each other in a day.
