Calling Record Publishing Companies

Yesterday while working at Martinson Engineering, I called up some more Record Publishing Companies.  They told me that if I submit my work into them by mail then the A & R committee would review my work.  If it’s good enough, they will put me on a contract.  A & R stands for Artist and Repertoire.  I hope my work as a Song Writer and Lyricist comes through.

Yesterday after coming home from work with Martinson Engineering again, I walked into my house.  The first thing on my mind was calling Lyssa.

Cranky Chatting With Lyssa

The conversation was fine but what I didn’t like was that Lyssa kept talking to her friends in the background and completely cut me off from conversation.

Lyssa then made a joke with Penelope.  That pissed me off because she wouldn’t tell me with Penelope around.  It was also about last night and how Penelope was late.  Penelope’s reason for being late last night was because the car broke down or wouldn’t start, lame but could be true.  I was getting pissed off that Lyssa wouldn’t tell me what they were laughing about, so we ended conversation.

Lyssa called back ten minutes later with Penelope still there and told me the joke was that Penelope was seeing Ali again tonight, and she was coming over.  Lyssa told me since I didn’t get much sleep last night, she wouldn’t come.

I said “Good!”

Lyssa got really upset by what I said, and conversation was once again stopped with a goodbye.

Giving Lyssa half an hour to gather her thoughts I called her again.  We talked about the problem.  As far as I’m concerned, for Lyssa to treat last night as a joke just like Penelope did and me to not get a decent sleep is just stupid.

Lyssa knew how angry I was last night.

Then she starts laughing about it in front of me.

Discuss Problems With Lyssa

Sitting using my IBM computer, I waited for the outcome, to see if Lyssa would visit me tonight.  The truth is that she did, and for the first time, she wouldn’t talk.  She was the quiet one, just like when I get hurt.

Lyssa would just lay there next to me and tell me there’s no problem, her face screaming out in pain without an expression, and all her thoughts drifting to the torment and passion of the moment that hurt her last, sullen in face.

After trying to have a conversation with her I managed to find out that she didn’t like how I said “Good” to her on the phone, as if I didn’t want her over at all.  The truth is I was angry with her making jokes with Penelope about last night.  Then for her to say she doesn’t want to come over because of what happened, (not knowing if she’s being sarcastic or serious) I flipped.

Lyssa Apologizes For Making Me Upset

Penelope was early last night and arrived at 10pm.  Giving Lyssa a kiss goodnight, she left.  Then I went to sleep.

Half asleep, she called me 15 minutes later.  I answered the phone in a daze.  She apologized for what she’d just done.  Still asleep, I said goodbye and hung up the phone, informing her that I’ll be calling her today.

Today I hope to finalize some deals for the year 12 formal, book a limousine, a hotel room, and to figure out which shops to attend to for formal hire and lingerie for Lyssa.

Looking To Carve Out A Musical Career

On the musical side, I’m going to inquire about a recording contract some more and contact some studios for recording prices.  What I hate doing is figuring out the lyrics on the computer, so I will try to hire some singers and have them perform my song without any music and then elaborate on music with the studio.

With one song performed I’ll submit that to a Record Publishing Company and see if they will give me a contract.  Hopefully I will make a name for myself with some of the best Song Writers and Lyricists out there.
