New Hip Hop Rehearsal Techniques

Right now, I was just experimenting with rapping.

I found out that if you plug in headphones (Tatton’s and good one’s too) into my tape deck player and put on a CD, you could record your voice while on microphone and have the headphones on as to have no distractions, and with my system, you get very small feedback as to where you can actually hear the CD.

I thought this was cool and we are going to be doing it on Sunday as to make our rapping voices better for when we really rap.  If all three of us were to do it and rap all together in acapela style, then we would need another mixer – but a stereo one – because the one we have now is just a mono.

When I put the headphones through the mixer it came out only from one speaker – meaning mono.

The Hip Hop Shopping List

We will have to buy a Stereo Mixer.  I am still going to consider buying that $500 mixer where you can plug everything into it and another tape deck player, or some kind of 8 track shit to record on.  This will set me back about $1,000 or so dollars but it will be worth it.

This is actually coming together pretty well, considering how far we have come.  Jett is getting a microphone and Tatton is getting one too.  I think I am the one that has to put shit together and spend the more money to tell these guys I’m serious about some shit like this.

What we would need is this.

  • 3 Stereo Headphones
  • 3 Voice Microphones
  • 1 room Microphone
  • Headphone Mixer
  • Microphone Mixer
  • DAT mixer ($500)
  • 1-2 CD players
  • A good twin tape-deck player
  • Graphic Equalizer
  • Some beats made up on CD
  • Some sound effect tapes
  • Lots a Lyrics
  • A location
  • Lots a determination and will

Now, I think I have everything in order.  That’s that for now.

Gym Routine

exercise

Let’s get into some hardcore gym shit.

Warmup:I done 3 minutes on the bike and I burnt 25 calories and then I stepped of and done some Leg warming up of the Quads and the Hamstrings.  I didn’t do much for calves.
Quadriceps:I started on Leg Extensions and put it up to 60 pounds after a warm-up and stretches and done 20 reps slowly.

I then went to Horizontal Leg Press and put it up to 150 pounds and done 15 reps with my Toes facing out.

I then got onto Smith Squats and started on 40 pounds and done 12 easy warm-up reps.  I then put the weight up to 80 pounds and proceeded to do another 12 reps.  I then once again, put the weight up to 100 pounds and done myself 12 more reps with toes out and it hurt good.

The other two sets were with variations with my Legs having them together and normal stance.  I then got onto Leg Press and started on 260 pounds and done 12 pretty easy reps.

This is my Light day for Legs by the way and I stayed on this weight and done 12 more reps.  I then was pretty tired and sweating and I put the weight down to 240 pounds and done 12 more reps.

Hamstrings:I done these fast and started on Lying Leg Curls and put it on 40 pounds and after some warming up, I done 15 reps.

I then got onto Seated Leg Curls and slowly Super-setted it with 80 pounds and I done 15 reps.  I then quickly got back onto a Bent Lying Leg Curl and put it up to 80 pounds and done 12 reps.

I then got back onto Seated Leg Curls and put it up to 100 pounds to do 12 slow reps.

I was burning now and I proceeded to Bent Lying Leg Curls and done 12 reps with 100 pounds.

I then got back onto Seated Leg Curls for my last set with 110 pounds and I done 12 reps.

Calves:This was a bit different again and I started on Leg Press Calve Raises because a woman that works behind the counter that I think is hot was working on the one next to me.

Shameful but I put it on 160 pounds and my first set was for 12 reps.  I then went again and done 12 more reps and paused and, with the same weight done 12 more reps.

I then got onto Standing Calve Raises and started on 120 pounds and done 12 reps.  I think I stayed on this for 2 more sets of 12 reps because I was pretty tired to think.

Tatton Comes Over

After that I went to see Denim and talked for a bit.  I then went home, where I greeted Tatton.  We mucked around for a bit and then he had to go.

I was eating and shit after that.

Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor

This was all done in about 20 minutes of writing so I am going to calculate it some day when I need it.  I can do 60 or more words a minute now.

I’m going to put on Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing on the Amiga 500 after this so I can touch up a bit.

Mission Employment Interview

employment

I am going to Mission Employment for a course that Dianne has put me on or wants to put me on.  She rang me today and told me about a course where they actually get me working at Mission Employment as if I was Employed.  I think it is an alright idea.

I am going for an interview there tomorrow at 10:30 am.  I’ll have to walk because my bike tire is flat.  I’m going to see if there is any extra money involved in it because it does go for 9 weeks.

Planning Ahead

Also, I still haven’t received that letter from Kathryn or from the Recording Studio for that matter.  I’m going to go to sleep around midnight so I can get up around 9:00 am in the morning.
