Appraised For My Well Mannered Work Ethic

Upon coming to work today I wasn’t really worried about the reaction of Nathan or anyone else I’d see at work seemingly now that I’ve resigned.

Catching the same bus and on the same route, I got off at the same stop in Narellan and walked the same track to get to work.  The only difference in getting there was I bought something to eat because I didn’t eat at home.

Walking into the door at Martinson Engineering I didn’t ignore the fact I resigned the day before and try to act as if it didn’t happen.  I asked Mrs. Martinson if Nathan received the letter.  She told me she gave it to him.  They talked about it last night but because Nathan was so busy they didn’t have enough time to fully comprehend my decision.

Mrs. Martinson is good when it comes to words.  She told me that I was a very well-mannered person that never spoke a rude or detrimental word of anyone and that I was very open to suggestion and always kind and courteous when receiving training, or when I done something wrong.

Mrs. Martinson told me that they won’t be able to find someone like me that easy, but they will try.

Team Members Notified Of My Resignation

Ringo walked in while we were talking.  Mrs. Martinson broke the news to him.  He didn’t seem too worried.  Actually, he sounded nice and chirpy as if that news had made his day better.  Like getting rid of Mondayitis by being told you got a raise.

Ringo couldn’t wait to get upstairs.  I think when he got up there that he was waving his hands around in the air, cheering in silence and laughing in the darkness.

Salman was next to walk in.  When Mrs. Martinson told him he was sort of in shock.  Salman was more caring towards the situation.  He asked questions of where I’m going and wished me luck.  He told me he was sorry to see me go.

Mrs. Martinson then talked to me for a little longer, just chatting.  Then I walked upstairs.

Chat With Lyssa Interrupted

Now that I’m upstairs and typing away on my computer, I think I’ll talk about what happened yesterday.

Like usual, I wanted to just go home, maybe ring Lyssa for a short time and just relax, work on my lyrics.  As soon as I stepped in the door, I ran upstairs and brought down my food.  I was just about to munch into it but I called Lyssa.  We talked for a minute before I heard a car outside.

The car outside looked like Shawn’s car.  But when I stepped outside it was Ali.  He was in a Subaru 4 wheel drive that looked like Shawn’s old Corolla.

Ali Does An Insurance Job

Ali told me the car was hot and told me to hurry up.  So I told Lyssa that she will receive a call later from me.  Lyssa was going to Velda’s house so she probably wouldn’t talk to me that night.

The actual truth about the car that Ali was driving was that it was an insurance job for a friend of his from work that is too rich to do it himself.  The car was all fucked up because Ali was hitting gutters on the way home from the City.

The car was near ready to blow when we were driving to Lyssa’s house to pick her up.

Lyssa jumped in the car without a clue whose car it was.  Then halfway to dropping her off at Velda’s house I told her the story.  The muffler was blowing way too much smoke to be healthy.

Dropping Lyssa off, we stalled the car and had to clutch it to move.

Reminded Of Jewell On Her Skates

Driving to Ali’s house, there was this real petite girl on skates in a bathing suit.  Even though she wasn’t old enough to grow pubic hair she looked good.  On the way to work today I thought to myself that used to be Jewell.

Then I thought to myself I loved the idea of Jewell being on skates and just gliding to me.  I thought of that time we were in the Roller Rink and Jewell held onto me while I walked, and she just glided right next to me.  We had some good times.  They were special to me.

Dumping The Subaru

Soon, we were headed to Kentlyn and the car was almost dead.  There was a couple of problems with this choice of territory to dump the car.

We were heading into territory where both our mobile phones were out of range, no one knew where we were apart from Lyssa, my battery was running out quickly, and we didn’t have a way back home.

What I had to do was get Lyssa to remember Ali’s number so she could call in half an hour to see if we were alright.  Luckily Imad got one of our calls and called up just before we were out of range.  I had enough time to tell him to meet us at Kentlyn and then the phone cut out.

As soon as we got to Kentlyn there was already a car there with no people in it.  Ali pranged the car into another wrecked car.  Then we backed it up into a log and parked it.  The car conked out and we couldn’t get it started again.

A guy came down the road.  We said hello.  He looked suspicious but acted as if he wanted to help us out.  Our story was so full of it.

We acted so cool under the pressure that it was sick.

Imad came down, done a burnout on arrival and then the guy left.  Clutch starting the car, Imad jumped in and crashed it into the fence down the road.  We made it look like it was stolen and trashed it.

Coming back home for a while we played Need For Speed on the computer.  Then Ali and Imad went back to trash the Subaru.

Lyssa Blows Up About Year 12 Formal

Nearing 10:30pm, Lyssa called me up coming back from Velda’s.  We got into a heated conversation on what’s happening after the year 12 formal.  We talked for an hour.  In that time we were both getting frustrated.

Lyssa didn’t want to jump in Ali’s car or Imad’s car because they drive like maniacs.  They are my only real lift home, so I don’t know what I’m doing.

Lyssa started being silly saying she will call her mum to pick her up, but I don’t think that will happen considering the time she’ll get home and she has to work the next day.

Lyssa doesn’t want to go to nightclubs with everyone else because she will be the only one that’s not a couple there, and I can’t go with her because she “knows” I won’t like it.  She doesn’t like public transport and we can’t stay in Parramatta.

What really gets to me is that I wanted to hire a hotel room that night but because Penelope showed her disapproval, I didn’t.  Now I’m really shitted because Penelope wants to hire a hotel room, something I wanted to do ages ago.  Now it’s too late because Lyssa and I went last week.

Penelope does shit me to also think she can just jump into the limousine with us without even asking me.  She asked Lyssa if she could come.  Lyssa wasn’t going to tell me, the one who paid $200 for a limousine to treat my girlfriend nice.  Now here’s Penelope taking that enjoyment away from me by making me uneasy.  Luckily, that’s not happening anymore and she’s going with Ali.

Velda, Rita and Bielka are staying at Bielka’s flat on the night.  Redd and Nadia will be renting a hotel room, Ali and Penelope are doing something, and everyone else is going to the city.

Lyssa told me that Constantine and someone else have no way of getting to the year 12 formal and nothing to do after, so Lyssa might see what they are doing.

Lyssa Starts Looking For Work

What I have learned is that while Lyssa is still on her period, treat her nice and stay out of her way, because tempers flare.

Lyssa got her haircut yesterday.  She visited the CES but nothing was there that she liked.  She looked for jobs in my category and found some good ones.

Life After Martinson Engineering

Mrs. Martinson is giving me my pay early.  I will receive it later today.  With that money I don’t have to worry about the year 12 formal as much.  I can just relax knowing I can do something.

Knowing that I’m almost out of this job within two weeks or less, I’m not sure what the next step is.  I’m really considering doing a Certificate 4 course but do I have the money?  No.

What I might do is get a part time job with Mobil or somewhere and just work on building up my money, having a good time, and working on my song lyrics and planning my future.  For once in my life I really know what I’ll be doing with the rest of my life.  I just have to get there.
